One of the undesirable aspects of tourism development is environmental degradation in destinations. Firstly, more and more natural resources such as water, energy, and soil are exploited due to the increase in visitor numbers, which may lead to the depletion of local resources. Secondly, pollution is also a serious issue making the authorities worried. Obviously, beverage bottles or cans and plas bags are freely disposed of at the tourist sites, posing a threat to the natural environment. Besides, the growth of vehicles to meet travel demand accidentally triggers or worsens traffic congestion, air and noise pollution in the overcrowded regions. Another bad influence of tourism is the devastation of the wildlife. The habitats of many wild plants and animals have been gradually lost because of building hotels, resorts and recreational zones. In brief, these negative impacts on the environment will be more serious if there are not appropriate measures.

Tourism's economic impacts can have both positive and negative consequences for tourism destinations. On one hand, tourism destinations attract both individuals who spend money as well as investors that build resorts, hotels and other attractions to accommodate them. While both of these sources of money generate new jobs, these jobs are often low-skilled service sector positions, and many of them are only available during peak tourist seasons. Additionally, particularly in the case of large hotels and resort chains, much of the revenue generated through tourism goes to international corporations, while little goes to the local economy.
Environmental and cultural impacts of tourism largely depend on how local governments manage and regulate the tourism industry. With good governmental oversight, tourism can preserve the local environment and wildlife by offering tours and other attractions. Poor management or inadequate regulation sometimes leads to overuse of natural resources, species destruction and widespread pollution. While tourism can help to preserve traditional cultural practices, it can also cause social disruptions by displacing native people and neglecting their needs and human rights in favor of tourists.

Tourism plays an important role in a economic development; however, it causes some negative effects. One of the most catastrophic effect is environmental pollution. The first thing is that tourism often puts pressure on natural resources through over-comsuption, often in places where resources are already scare. Next, tourism puts enormous stress on local land use, and can lead to soil erosion, increased pollution, natural habitat loss, and more pressure on endangered species. The habitats of plants and wildlife are lost due to the construction of tourist areas and tourist activities. To sum up, the development of tourism has a serious effect without a suitable control.
