I consider myself as a flower lover. And my favorite flower is roses. I guess it is because my sweet childhood was all about roses. In my memory, my family small garden was filled by roses. The window of my bed room was just few meters away from the bushes. I still remember in many cool early spring mornings, when roses bloomed, I sneaked out of my bedroom, tiptoed through the living room and ended up standing in front of those bushes, on bear feet. Despite my parents strict rule about getting out in such a cold weather, I couldn't help myself from the appeal of the gentle, sweet and special fragrance of the roses, and from the desire of touching the smooth, silky and fresh petals. Also, I couldn't stand the plough of the flowers which was astounding in the late summer afternoons when the last orange streaks were fading away to the dark. The roses were gradually turning dark and mysterious.
Unfortunately, after my family had moved to live in a town, my mom had no land for planting flowers, so I just got some roses from markets; but perhaps the love for the flower was in my blood, so since I could earn money on my own, I've been spending quite a lot on bringing in my home roses, also meaning to bring beautiful memories of my childhood to me. Especially, my friends told me that in my wedding, my husband and me were not the major characters, but roses.
So I would say that, roses, to me, is not flowers, but the beauty, and memories of a peaceful childhood. And no wonder why people are living with their past in their present!
