In the modern world, technology is an integral part of daily life, and screens are inescapable. From social media to online learning and video games, teenagers spend hours each day glued to their devices. However, as screen time increases, so do concerns about its impact on young people’s physical and mental well-being. While some argue that strict limits on screen time are unnecessary or unrealistic, there are compelling reasons why parents should actively monitor and limit teenagers' use of screens.

First, excessive screen time can negatively affect a teenager's physical health. The most immediate concern is the link between prolonged screen use and sedentary behavior. Teenagers who spend hours on their phones or computers are more likely to neglect physical activity, which can lead to weight gain, poor posture, and long-term health issues. Studies have shown that a lack of physical activity during the teenage years is associated with an increased risk of chronic conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. By limiting screen time, parents can encourage their children to engage in more physical activities, promoting healthier lifestyles.

In addition to physical health concerns, screen time also has significant mental health implications. Many studies have highlighted the correlation between heavy social media use and increased rates of anxiety, depression, and loneliness among teenagers. Constant exposure to idealized images and cyberbullying can exacerbate feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. Limiting screen time helps reduce exposure to these harmful influences, giving teenagers more time to focus on face-to-face interactions and building real-world connections, which are vital for emotional development. When teenagers spend too much time online, they may also miss out on critical in-person experiences that contribute to their social and emotional growth.

Furthermore, excessive screen time can interfere with academic performance. While educational tools and apps can be beneficial, the allure of entertainment and social media often distracts teenagers from their studies. Research has shown that students who spend too much time on their devices, especially before bedtime, experience disrupted sleep patterns, which in turn affect concentration and cognitive function during the day. A teenager who stays up late texting friends or watching videos is likely to perform poorly in school. By imposing reasonable limits on screen time, parents can help their children prioritize their education and ensure they get the necessary rest to perform at their best.

Critics of limiting screen time argue that technology is a vital part of modern life and that restricting it could hinder a teenager’s ability to adapt to the digital world. They may claim that screens are essential for communication, entertainment, and education. While it is true that technology plays a crucial role in teenagers' lives, moderation is key. Parents do not need to ban screens altogether but should regulate the time spent on them, encouraging balance. Teenagers can still engage with technology while ensuring that it does not interfere with their physical health, mental well-being, or academic responsibilities.

In conclusion, while screens are an unavoidable part of modern life, it is important for parents to set boundaries on their teenagers' screen time. Limiting screen usage can help mitigate the negative effects on physical and mental health, improve academic performance, and foster healthier social interactions. Striking the right balance between digital engagement and real-world activities is crucial for teenagers' overall development. Parents should not only be aware of the risks associated with excessive screen time but also take proactive steps to

Digital devices play an essential part in teenagers' lives nowadays. I strongly believe that parents should not strictly limit their children's screen time for the following reasons. First of all, they can be used for both research and study purpose. Students can access Internet to download data and store information and textbooks, which save amounts of money for paper books and time. This also means their backpacks are lighter but contain bigger data.

In addition, modern technology tools improve their study results because of a wide variety of useful learning applications on smartphones, laptop, tablets and other media players such as dictionary, spelling, translation, pronunciation and other apps. These apps are not boring but exciting them with colorful designed-courses, funny methods and attractive contents. Furthermore, students can study any time, anywhere as long as their devices are connected to Internet.

In conclusion, personal electronic devices bring more benefits than harm to students. I suggest that teachers allow and encourage the use of these devices in learning both inside and outside of class.

Today, education has become a priority for many parents seeking to secure a good future for their children in this rapidly changing world. They believe that if their children apply themselves and work hard at school, then they will increase their opportunities for going to higher education and eventually getting a good job. Of course, they are right, and as access to the best education and best jobs is becoming more competitive, then it is true that children have to make the best of their study time when they are young.

However, the parents who do not allow their children sufficient free time for leisure activities outside school hours are misguided. Such activities are far from being a waste of time for the children simply because they are not academic. It is important to remember that children need to develop skills other than intellectual ones, and the best way to do this is through activities such as sports, games and playing with other kids. If they cannot play make-believe games, how can they develop their imagination? How can they learn physical coordination or learn important social lessons about winning and losing if they do not practise any sports? Many children form strong, personal relationships with the friends they play with, and without the opportunity to do this, they could grow up emotionally immature or unformed.

Finally, I think it is also important to remember that, children need to relax as well as work. If everything they do must have some educational or academic relevance, then they will soon get tired of studying altogether, which is the last thing parents would want.

Nowadays, teenagers heavily rely on technology and many of them find it hard to live without mobiles, computers and the Internet. Adoring the virtual world can be harmful to both teens' bodies and minds. Instead of joining outdoor activities like football, skating or biking, many boys and girls enjoy sitting in front of computers or TVs. Others are addicted to using their mobiles for texting, chatting and checking updates on Facebook all the time. They prefer these activities perhaps because they don't have to think or imagine much. Teens now have less time to read books, take exercise or hang out with family and friends because they fancy the unreal world. For me i think the best leisure activity for teenagers is volunteer and parents should encourage teenagers spend their free time on leisure activity because it is very helpful

I believe the best leisure activity for teenagers is any group activity. This could be playing a team sport or joining a hobby group or even volunteering. Firstly, teenagers like to feel that thev belong to the group. Secondly, being part of a group helps teenagers make friends. Friendship is very important to teenagers. In addition, they will make friends with people who have the same interests as them. For these reasons, I think group activities are best for teenagers.
