an interview with Marcia Clark
can i ask you a few questions?
sure you can
what do you do?
i write Teen trouble. i answer letters from teebagers and make suggestions
how do teens contact you?
ok most of the letters are e-mails
Teenagers e-mail the magazine, then the magazine sends the e-mails me. i read about 50 e-mails every day. i choose a few very interesting letters for the magazine
can we see the e-mails?
Absolutely not! teenagers share serious problems with me. sometimes they are secret. You can read the letters that we put in the magazine, but you can't read the others
what about telling us about the main problems teens write about?
that's a good idea. a lot of teens ask for permission to do things:"can i get a tattoo?","can dye my hair blue?"their parents say "no" , so they ask me.but i can't say"i'll think about it" or "sorry, you can't". that isn't my job! So i say "what about talking to your parents?" or " why don't you wait and think about it?"
i make suggestions
thank you for talking with us
you're welcomel
answer the questions
1 why can't you read all of the letters?
