My Tet holiday ís very fun . Because I and my family go to visit my hometown . And we can play many funny games for Tet . And I don't do my homework at Tet holiday and I don't go to my school ... That everythings I think about my Tet holiday.
Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked,offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sticks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.
~~~ HAND ~~~it is the end of school for us — April and May are nuts. These are days apt to be described by the first paragraph of “A Tale of Two Cities.” Right now I have 3 planning periods a week. (Not kidding.) Plus Special Olympics Bocce Ball. PLUS NHS Blood Drive. PLUS Senior Slide show. PLUS Graduation movie. PLUS Bidding out pulling cable for the new building. PLUS the Technology plan and budget for next year. PLUS tech support. PLUS my book launch for Reinventing Writing to coordinate. PLUS graduating my second child and getting her off to college.
MINUS sanity.
I say this because tens of thousands of you live this every day. This is your life. You totally get this.
To bad no one else does. Don’t expect them to either.
People are going to start casually saying
The School Year Doesn’t “Wind Down”!
And you know they are among the clueless. There is nothing “winding down” about the end of the school year. It is more a complete and total crash. You accelerate until you run into a brick wall and you hope your seatbelt lets you get out of the thing intact so you can limp off to your summer. The first week or so of my summer is spent sipping coffee – staring into space and reading books where stuff gets blown up. I’m worthless because I’m spent. Every shred of everything I had to give is given.
All these years, I have spent my summer holiday going out to trips. This year I have planned to make it a productive holiday time.
I am going to focus on 2 things during my summer holidays this year. One is yoga and another is my favorite hobby gardening. My father always used to tell me that Yoga is a great art; one who praces Yoga will be able to increase his/her concentration power. In order to improve my focus on studies, I have decided to go to Yoga Classes this year during holidays. The Local “Yoga for Youth” Organization conducts free sessions for school students every year, especially during summer holidays. I have enrolled my name for this program and 2 of my friends are joining me for the same.
The next thing that I am planning to do is gardening. Gardening has been an interest for me; but since I have dance classes every evening after school I couldn’t involve myself in gardening. So I have planned to design a garden myself and give all my time during Summer Holidays. Within a month or 2 I am sure that the garden will be all set so that I can spend little time to preserve all the plants and trees once the school reopens. I am looking for rare plants that are herbal in value and good for the environment. Once my garden works are done, I am planning to build a fence around.
Both these tasks have been my plan ever since last summer holidays were about to end without any big achievement. So no matter what, I have planned to prioritize these 2 things and be a better person when I move to the next class.
My dream home is an elusive place. Sometimes it has absolutely no walls, though I can clearly sense being on the inside of something. And then there are the doors--playing "Waiting for the Sun"--and windows that occasionally turn into mist and/or open to nowhere. Oh, and last week one window opened into the next one, and the next one, and... But it only happens when I have a run-in with my dream man and he wants to scalp me. My dream home is a composite of houses I have been in and ones I have never seen. If there is a garden, it comes with apricot trees blossoming under piercing blue April skies and a tangled patch of grass which nobody would equate with lawn. My dream home is a busy place frequented by motivated guests. If things get tight, I take flight--just need to avoid the high wires all around the neighborhood.
My first day of this school year is great. I meet all my friends and we are very happy when we meet . My new school is nice and my new classroom is very nice and comfortable . The school yard is large and we can play badminton there. We can also sit and read books under the trees. My school canteen is clean and there are a lot of food and drinks there . In short , my first day at school was great and I love my new school very much .
My book of the year is How to Make Friends and Influence People. This book was written by Dale Carnegie. If you do not know, I will introduce: Dale Carnegie is a famous orator around the world. How to Win Friends and Influence People has been translated into most of the world's languages and is available in hundreds of countries. This is the best-selling book by the New York Times for 10 years in a row. This book has changed the lives of millions of people around the world. How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of his famous books. This book contains about 400 pages. The cover of the book is printed and decorated quite simply but very eye-catching with the words The Best Book Of All Time Brings You To Success. And true to the name, the book talks about the basic to complex communication arts that are easy to capture people's hearts. How to Win Friends and Influence People consists of four parts. The first part deals with the basic arts of conduct. The second part is about six ways to create goodwill. The third part teaches us how to guide others to your thinking. And the last part is about ways to transform others without causing resentment or anger. It is written in quite detail. Each section is accompanied by several illustrative examples. And ends with a piece of advice written by the author himself. I read it and found it to be a good book. I think you should read it.
There is a super famous comic book series that I am sure most of people in all over the world know, and it is Doraemon. It started as a simple series for children which took a small part in the magazine. However, it had surprisingly created a big wave which even reached out to the whole world. The story is about a robot cat from the future who has to come back to the past to help a small boy to fix his miserable life. That boy is Nobita – a slow and clumsy boy. Together they been through a lot of interesting things in the daily life as well as thrilling adventures. Doraemon has a small pocket on his belly, but actually it is a magic pocket which can contain countless of things. That is where he stores all of his gadgets from the future, and they help Nobita to overcome the difficulties in his life. Besides the two main characters, Nobita has other friends such as Shizuka, Takeshi, Suneo, Doremi, Dekisugi and many more. Shizuka is Nobita’s crush, and lately she becomes his wife. Takeshi – or also known as Jaian – is the one who always bully Nobita for his silliness, but sometimes he also stands out to protect his friends and family. Suneo is a rich kid, and he is the best assistant of Jaian when bullying Nobita. They fight a lot, but they are kids after all. The comic is not just only a form of entertainment, but it also has many valuable lessons about life. We can learn how to treasure friendship, protect the environment, and stay away from bad things after reading it. Doraemon is my favorite book, and I think there are a lot of people out there also love it me.
