Villages are a beauty and today`s generation is really missing the beauty of villages. Villages are so silent and calm and pollution free. Though I live in a city with the maddening crowd and sound, my parents used to live in villages and I have been there many times. Both my parents come from villages, and I look forward to go their places during my vacations. It is so calm and peaceful and the beauty of nature is just fantastic. With not many families around, they know each other so well, that they all almost live like a large family. You could step into your neighbor’s house at any time and you would be welcomed with yummy dishes and snacks. Though the transportation has advanced, there are still places where you need to walk.I remember, while visiting my grandmother’s place, we had to walk through the paddy fields to reach her home!! It was such an experience that I guess very few, who are of my age would have hadThe backwaters are another beauty to the villages. You have small streams that club to the lakes and backwaters. This stream water is so fresh and crystal clear. You could walk through them and the cool water just rushes over your feet and makes you feel so cool. Hours could be spent by simply sitting and admiring the beauty of nature. The sunset is a beautiful scene to be viewed.

Dear Stephen,
I know your country is very far from mine - Vietnam. But if you have a chance, I want to come and visit it - a very beautiful country.
I will show you my village first, its name is Sky Garden. Listening to the name can make you know what there is in my village. Each house in Sky Garden has an own garden, it's probably a banana garden, an apple garden, a flower garden and so on. My village also has a paddy field, it seems be a very huge yellow rug. And if you feel hot, you can go with me to the Red River and enjoy the cool winds.
I really want you to visit my village and my country. I hope you will have time for that.
Write to me as soon as you receive this letter.
Reguars,

There is a unique festival of Dao ethnic group you must see – the “Dancing over fire” festival. This festival takes place every year to pray for good weather, harvests, bringing warmth to the people, dispel the cold mountainous weather. The chosen ones are strong healthy guys. The shaman will do some mysterious rituals, praying the Gods give the chosen men strength. After the shaman finish the first rituals, the men have shivers, signaling they are about to receive the strength and courage to jump and dance on the embers in front of people. The shaman drum become more and more impulsive, the men dance with stronger movements and jump on the embers. What a spectacular and unique scene, it really makes you feel closer to the gods above.

Almost all the provinces along the coastline have their own boat racing competition. According to the researchers, boat racing competitions originated from the worship to god whale, earth spirit and river spirit. It represents the love of the fishermen to the sea and the dream to conquer it. The fishermen show their strength, their solidarity and their skills in this contest.
Traditional festivals play a very important role in culture. Although many of them can not maintain the original rituals but the spirit and the meaning of them will never change in each Vietnamese mind. We inherited precious tradition from our forefathers and we will do our best to maintain and develop it in our own way.

I want to talk about an ancient village named Le Minh. It is a famous village for making traditional nem chua. The scenery here is picturesque with the old bridge and the village gate. There are many places to visit like traditional house, temples and wells. People in this village live by making traditional nem chua, but some other people go to work at factory. This is village is suitable for children. They go to school in the morning and help their parents after classes. People here get on well together. This village is very peaceful and suitable for anyone who wants to escape from the life of the city.

It was very surprise when I arrived at the train station in my hometown because people work with modern technology and ride a motorbike or lorry to move some cargo, there was no cart anymore. Many house had televesion. There were some big buildings were finished to serve the people. The road was resurfaced that help the traffic move easier. However, the life in my country was a little modern so many trees have gone. They had built more schools and parks, cinemas, theaters and car parks, so some family now didn't unlettered and the people can relax by go to the park, theater, ... for entertainment

My hometown is Hanoi, Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam. It’s quite nice and large. The city always busy and have many populations.
The city located on the right bank of the Red River. Hanoi locates at 1760 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. The city has the weather of northern Vietnam, the summer are hot and wet, the winter quite cold and dry. The summer in Hanoi is very long, from May to August and has the heavy rain are 1680 millimetres. The winter are short, cold, dry while spring can bring rains. The autumn in Hanoi is the best season in a year, romantic and very cool. Hanoi is also has some notable famous museums: National Museum of Vietnamese History, Vietnamese Museum of Evolution, Ho Chi Minh Museum. There are so many places for entertainment in Hanoi can find easily in the city. Modern and traditional theaters, cinemas, karaoke bars, dance clubs, bowling alleys, and many shopping centres for both locals and tourists. Hanoi has been named as one of the top ten cities for shopping in Asia by Smart Travel Asia. Hanoi has rich food and many Vietnam’s most famous cuisines, such as ”pho”, ”cha ca”, ”banh cuon” and ”com”. Most famous is ”Pho”, a simple rice noodle soup often eat as a breakfast bowl at home or on street, but also serve in restaurants as a meal. I live in a mountainous villrye. My parents often tell me stories about their life in the past. It’s not much like the village I can see nowadays. Some villagers now live in brick houses instead of earthen ones. Our houses are better equipped with electric fans and TVs. Thanks to the TV, we now know more about life outside our village. We don’t use oil lamps any more. We have electric lights which are much brighter. More villagers are using motorcycles for transport instead of riding a horse or walking. We — village children — no longer have to walk a long way and cross a stream to get to school, which is dangerous in the rainy season. Now there’s a new school nearby. We also have more visitors from the city. They come to experience our way of life.
Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked, offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sticks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year
There are so many traditional festivals in my country. They depend on the area and they are different according to the season, people ect….
One of the most important festivals in the North where I live is the Mid-Autumn festival. People celebrate this festival every 15th of the 8th Lunar month when the moon is full. That’s why it has another name of the Moon festival. This festival is for children, so their parents often buy them many sweets, moon cakes and lanterns. This is an occasion for parents to show their love to their children. In the evening of that day, children go along the streets with their candlelit lanterns and sing songs together. In some villages, there are music shows where children sing songs and dance. There are lion dances in the streets in some other places. The atmosphere is wonderful.
