Natural disasters indicate natural calamities. When a storm rotates violently round a centre, it is termed a cyclone. A cyclone may occur any time and at any place. The cyclone of Bangladesh generally originates from the Bay-Of-Bengal, and blows towards that land. Thunders and heavy rains often accompany it. Thus a terrible situation is created that lasts for a few hours. It causes a great destruction. Many people and other animals die. Residing houses are blown away. The tidal bore and the heavy rains wash away the stores of food stuff and leave the marks of terrible damage. As a result, the cyclone is usually followed by scarcity of food and outbreak of various diseases such as cholera, dysentery, diarrhea, fever etc. which spread all over the affected areas. However, the great loss caused by cyclones can be reduced to a substantial extent. Using modern technology’s of weather forecast, prior warning can be given to the people who are likely to be affected by the cyclone. This people and their domestic animals can be shifted to the cyclone shelters. Moreover, a quick relief, medical treatment and essential medicines should be made available to the affected people just after a terrible cyclone, overcoming the crisis; government should take initiatives to aware the people of the cyclone affected areas.
Today, in Vietnam often encountered many natural disasters such as floods, droughts, hail, tropical storms and other natural disasters. Nghe An Province was badly affected again when a typhoon hit the area last night. The storm began at around 11 p.m. and raged thoughout the night. Dozens of people were seriously injured and hundreds of others were left homeless. The severe winds caused extensive damage to property, including homes and businesses, parularly in Cua Lo, a coastal town in Nghe An. The storm had already weakened by the time emergency workers arrived in the area. Rescue operations have started and many people trapped in collapsed or damaged buidings have been freed. People left homeless have been taken to safe areas, where temporary accommodation will be built to house them. The weather bureau has issued flood warning for Nghe An and nearby provinces as heavy rain is expected to continue over the next few days.
