The traditional game festival
I took part in a traditional games festival in my school in HCM City (chỗ này có thể thay thế được). The festival lasted for one day. There were three activities in this festival: water-fetching by hand, tug of war and mandarin square capturing. In the water-fatching by hand contest, three people from each team had to get the water by hand and pour the water into the bottle. In tug of war, ten people from each team have to pull a rope in the opposite direction from the other team. In mandarin square capturing, five people from each team placed one big stone in each of the rice field squares. The first player took up all the pieces of any rice field square on his/her side of the board and distributed one piece per square starting at the next square in either direction. When all five pieces are distributed, the player would repeat again and another player do the same too.The game ended when all the pieces are captured. After the three contests my group won the second prize. The festival was wonderful.
On the occasion, I attended a local festival. It is the Temple Festival. There are many interesting activities such as: balloon piercing, monkey bridge, or dance festival. The most interesting thing is the balloon piercing, 120 coins, ten darts, players in turn use the darts in the balloons too explosive it, if from seven or more will get a big teddy bear thunder. A monkey festival is held on a pond or lake. At the end of the bridge, coins are placed with different values. The player must skillfully cross the bridge and then, at the end of the bridge, take a coin. hanging there, who is not careful is falling into the water soon.

In our culture, there are many festivals, but I like most the rice-cookinh festival.
This festival is held every two years. But this year,it was held earlier than before. It was held in a communal house yard. This festival took one day.I joined in it with my family.
In this festival, there were three team, each team has six members and there were three contests : water-fetching ; fire-making ; rice-cooking.
In the water-fetching contest, every member from each team had to take one of bottles from a river bank one kilometer away and come back to the starting position
And in the fire-making contest, two members of each team had to make fire by rubbing the pieces of bamboo, the fire is made in the traditional way and the winners are the first team made fire.
Next,in the rice-cooking contest, six members of each team had to seperate the rice from the husk and cook the rice.
Finally, the judges ate the rice of each team, and the winner is the most delicious rice and the grand prize was awarded for my village. We were very happy and felt very excited. What a wonderful festival !
Well, to start off, I would to describe Tet, which is the most crucial national festival of Vietnam. In Vietnamese culture, Tết marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. It usually lasts three days but celebrations continue for at least the first week of the New Year.
Moving on to the next question, in my opinion, the primary reason for its appearance is that Tết is a special occasion for family reunions as well as for celebrating the arrival of spring.
To celebrate the New Year, we do lots of things together. Before New Year’s Eve, we prepare some local specialties, such as Chưng cake, Vietnamese sausage and dried candied fruits to worship our ancestors and then enjoy during Tet. Houses are thoroughly cleaned out and then nicely furnished in the hopes of getting rid of the past year’s bad lucks. Additionally, many families usually decorate their houses with Kumquat trees, Apricot or Peach blossom and parallel sentences that are believed to bring luckiness, happiness and prosperity to them in the New Year.
All members in a family gather together and have parties to ring in the New Year. During Tết, there are a lot of customs praced, such as giving lucky money to children, visiting friends’ houses and going to churches, temples or pagodas to make good prays for their family.
If there’s time left, I would to explain its importance to our culture and me. With Vietnamese, Tết is vital as it’s a very meaningful tradition to welcome the New Year. And it’s more important because Tet is the time for families and relatives to gather under the same roof for rekindling love and bonding. For me, I always long for Tet as it’s the longest holiday, which can help me recover my battery after a long working year
Indian Festival
The Milwaukee Native American Indian Festival is truly and amazing event. For three days in September every year, thousands gather in Milwaukee, USA, to celebrate Indian culture. Last year, I was lucky enough to attend the festival and experience it for myself.
The preparations take months. Dance teams from all over the country practise to compete in the tribal Pow Wow dance contest. Indian craftsmen work to produce the many traditional items on display. Then, in the week before the festival, the stalls are put up and the food is prepared, so that everything will be ready for the big day.
The celebrations began at 4pm and there was plenty to see and do. I visited a traditional Indian village, watched skilled craftsmen carve totem poles, and even learned how to do tribal Indian dancing. It was also a great opportunity to sample some traditional native dishes, corn bread and buffalo burgers.
The festival was fun, entertaining and educational. It was a wonderful way to learn about Native American culture and celebrate the end of summer.

We all know: a festival is a cultural event organized communally. There are a lot of festivals all over the world, one of them is Halloween. "Halloween" is the short form of "All Hallows' Evening", it's held in the last day of October, from the afternoon till 12 p.m. In a Halloween festival, there are many activities, such as: trick-or-treat, disguising as a zombie, carving a pumpkin, watching films or telling horror stories. The most special activity is trick-or-treat. In this activity, the children will come and knock their neighbors' doors in order to get sweet candies. When the children do so, they have to ask the house's owner: "Trick or treat?" because it is Halloween's longstanding culture. Halloween is really interesting, the people who take part in this festival feel very happy and excited because of the jokes. Halloween is such an awesome festival.

Topic 1 :
I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the occasion expected the most by Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 3-4 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar.
– The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.
– There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
– The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.

. Temple of Artemis at EphesusThe Temple of Artemis was reckoned by Antipater of Sidon, the Greek poet, to be the finest of the ancient wonders. He wrote: "When I saw the house of Artemis that mounted to the clouds, those other marvels lost their brilliancy, and I said, 'Lo, apart from Olympus, the Sun never looked on aught so grand'." After being destroyed twice, by floods and arson, the third - and greatest - incarnation began in 323BC. It survived until 268AD, when it was damaged or destroyed during a Goth raid. The site of the temple was rediscovered in 1869, and fragments of it can be found in the British Museum. Ephesus was given World Heritage Site status in 2014.

I think the main festival in my country is Christmas, which is in late December. The main day that is celebrated in the UK is Christmas Day, on 25th December, though we also have the day off the following day, on Boxing Day, when many people visit friends and extended family.
I spent last Christmas with my family, and will also spend this one there too. We all get together at my parents’ house, because it is large enough to host everyone. On Christmas morning, we start preparing the meal, as it takes a long time to cook! We put the turkey or goose in the oven, and then some of us go to church for a Christmas mass. The rest of us stay behind to carry on cooking. At around midday, we gather round the Christmas tree, which is decorated with baubles, tinsel, and fairy lights and we open our presents, which are all placed under the tree the night before. After that we have our Christmas dinner, which is always the same meal as it is a traditional feast.
I love nearly everything about Christmas. There is a sense of anticipation and excitement in the period leading up to Christmas, and then during the festival itself families and friends spend time together and most people have time off work. One thing I don’t like about Christmas is that it is very commercialised and it can be stressful getting ready for it!
This festival is important for many people, even for non-Christians. Many non-Christian people in the UK enjoy the festive season without attaching any religious significance to it. It is our only national holiday involving resting, feasting and the giving of gifts, and I think such times nurture our souls.
The Mid-Autumn festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night. The Mid-Autumn festival is named "Tết Trung Thu" in Vietnamese. I've joined in it every year. I love lions dance Dances are performed by both non-professional children's groups and trained professional groups. Lion dance groups perform on the streets, going to houses asking for permission to perform for them.
