Outside of class, students also have to spend a lot of time self-studying and reviewing at home to be able to absorb and remember knowledge most effectively. Self-study is a modern form of learning widely applied because of the efficiency and convenience it brings. On the other hand, self-study also brings many challenges to learners because this form of learning requires a very high level of discipline and self-discipline. So why does self-study bring any benefits and what is an effective self-study method?

Each student has a different learning method to suit your personality. There are students who feel more focused when studying and listening to music, but there are also students who prefer a quiet study space. In addition, you can choose diverse learning methods that suit you such as drawing mind maps, learning through images, videos,... when spending time studying on your own. Not only that, students can study at an appropriate pace, spending time learning deeply about the issues they care about. When studying on their own, students are completely proactive in choosing study times that suit their schedules and personal habits. For example, there are students who feel they concentrate better in the evening, but on the contrary, there are also students who feel that morning is the right time to study. In addition, each student has a different free time budget and students are completely proactive in choosing self-study time that suits their personal needs.

Building a suitable self-study schedule for yourself will be the foundation for building a good habit for students. When studying on their own, students will be trained to be proactive and develop problem-solving skills because they need to proactively explore learning materials as well as find solutions to their questions. In addition, self-study means that students need to proactively arrange their time appropriately, this will help them form habits as well as self-discipline in learning.

Self-study requires high self-awareness and perhaps for many of you, this is the biggest challenge to overcome. Therefore, students should build a timetable suitable to their personal schedule, dividing time for studying, entertainment and time for other work. Note, you should allocate appropriate time so that your body does not fall into a state of fatigue and exhaustion, as well as choose the time when you feel you can concentrate best to study.

After having a suitable timetable, students should avoid the habit of procrastination and adhere exactly to the timetable they set to achieve the best results.

I will talk about my story, I met and made a wonderful friend before when I was in 6th grade. She was very pretty, did well in math and resembled me in every way. We used to have a lot of good memories together. But after one year of school, she moved to HCM city. I later looked at her profile, I saw a lot of beautiful pictures posted between us. No matter how far apart, we still contact each other and hang out together in the summer colors ... now she has gone abroad to study, but I still hope one day she will come find me .

Hello everyone, everyone must have had an interesting and memorable adventure in life. Me too, today I will tell you about an exciting adventure of mine. That day was Sunday, my family and I went to visit Bai Dinh pagoda - Ninh Binh. We got in the car at 3:30 a.m. and arrived around 6 o'clock. First we went to visit the temple, I learned that this place, more than 1000 years ago, was the temporary capital of the Dinh during the construction of Hoa Lu capital and then acted as one of The "four towns" of Hoa Lu capital. Also here, under the Ly dynasty, National Master Nguyen Minh Khong built a monkhood, used to cure diseases to save people, especially the cure for the cure of tigers for King Ly Than Tong. is one of the centers of Buddhism (worshiping Buddha), religion (worshiping Cao Son), worshiping Mother (mother Lieu Hanh). After that, my family and I went into the caves, of course we got a lot of good memories. After visiting the pagoda, we went to visit Trang An river and saw in the bottom of the small boat, the scene was very romantic. The feeling of being in nature, listening to wild birds, not having to worry about work or study, is so enjoyable. Going deep will have to paddle through shimmering stalactites caves, with many different shapes. Until about 5 pm, we returned home. This tour will leave me a lot of joy and happiness. I will never forget it.

Dear Susan,

It’s been a long time since the last time I wrote to you. A new year is coming, so I wish you and your family happiness and health. My family spent a cheerful holiday in our cozy house. In New Year Eve we had a big party with all my relatives, we got together, talked, sang and waited for the Ñrst moment of New Year 2012. During this holiday I knew more about some interesting customs of our country that I really want to share with you. Those are the things that we should do to bring good luck for a new year. The Ñrst thing is that eating black-eyed peas are said to bring richness and safety to the coming year. Another interesting custom is eating pork on New Year’s Day because pigs eat moving forward. Therefore, those who eat pork will move forward, too. One more thing is we consider cabbage as another "good luck" vegetable. Cabbage leaves are also considered a sign of prosperity because we believe that cabbage is the symbol of paper money. I know that you come from Viet Nam and your lunar new year is coming soon. I hope to learn more about the things you often do and your customs to bring lucks on Tet holiday.

Love, Linh

Read the following article about how to be environmentally friendly and decide in which paragraph (A - E) the following are mentioned. Write your answer (A, B, C, D, or E). Write one letter for each answer. The paragraphs may be chosen more than once.

A. FAIR TRADE

Farmers in developing countries are some of the most vulnerable people on earth, prey to world commodity markets, middlemen and the weather. So-called “fair trade” arrangements guarantee co-operative groups a price above the world market and a bonus on top. The growing fair-trade market has distributed hundreds of millions of pounds to more than 50 million people worldwide. But critics say that fair trade will never lift a country out of poverty; indeed, it may keep it there, because the money generated from the sale goes almost in its entirety to rich countries which promote the products. As a simple guide, only about 5% of the sale price of a fair-trade chocolate bar may actually go to a poor country.

B. ORGANIC FOOD

For food to be organic it must be free of added chemicals, both in the growing of the food and in the killing of the pests that might damage the crop. In a world where many manufactured chemicals have never been properly tested for safety, this is a very big selling point. Parents are thus prepared to pay a premium for organic food, especially when chemicals suspected of causing a variety of problems have been found, albeit in tiny quantities, in most children’s blood. The problem is that many farmers have not switched to organic in sufficient numbers to satisfy this growing market. As a result, supermarkets are often forced to fly vegetables as they can label “organic” halfway around the world, at a great cost to the planet in extra greenhouse gases. Environmentalists are now urging shoppers to buy locally produced vegetables, even if they are not organic and have been sprayed with pesticides.

C. RECYCLING

A great shift has taken place in the way we think about rubbish. Where once we were happy to bury it in landfills or dump it at sea, we are now being urged by national and local governments to recycle it and think of waste as a resource. The wheelie-bin culture is being replaced by a series of kerbside collections for paper, metals, plastic, bottles, clothes and compost. The idea is to cut landfill as well as saving the planet. It is, however, having some unexpected consequences. Most of Britain's plastic and paper is now being sent for recycling in China or India, which creates more greenhouse gases just to get it there, plus workers then have to separate it. Meanwhile, some paper and bottles carefully sorted out by householders end up being dumped in landfills after all, because the demand for recycled materials constantly fluctuates.

D. BEING CARBON NEUTRAL

If you want to make yourself feel better about the planet, there are lots for you to ease your conscience by becoming “carbon neutral”. One of the most appealing methods is to pay for someone to plant trees, preferably creating or regenerating new forests. The theory is that trees grow by absorbing carbon dioxide and giving out oxygen storing the carbon in their trunks. But woods and forests create their own mini-climate, which collects and stores water and creates rainclouds. Added to this, there is the potential problem that planting trees often releases carbon stored in the soil – and what happens if the forests catch fire, or are chopped down and harvested for timber? Another and perhaps better solution might be to invest in small-scale hydro-electric schemes, so that people who live in the Himalayas, for example, and currently do not have electricity, can develop a 21st-century lifestyle without polluting the planet.

E. ECO-TOURISM

The idea of “green” tourism is to persuade local people not to chop down forests, shoot elephants or wipe out tigers, but to preserve them so rich tourists visit and peer at the wildlife through binoculars. Unfortunately, the best money is made from reintroducing animals for trophy hunting by the very rich- an idea which does not always meet with approval and has caused much debate. While tourists may help sustain some national parks, they often create as many problems as they solve. One is that they tend to demand all mod cons in their hotels, such as a great deal of water for showers; a luxury sometimes not available for locals. Eco-tourism, when properly managed, can offer the locals and the animals a brighter future. Sometimes, though, the only winners are a few business people who own hotels.

Some people think that it’s better for their children to grow up in the countryside; other people think that it’s better their children to grow up in a big city. Both possibilities have some advantages and disadvantages. I’ll give advantages of each approach and I’ll argue in favor of this that it’s better for children to grow up in the countryside.

In a society where money, career and convenience are important things, many people prefer to live in big cities. Consequently their children grow up there. In the following passage I’ll state some important aspects of the life in the big cities. People go to live there at many reasons. First, a big city provides many opportunities for career and education. For instance, If I live in South Dakota I’ll have chance to live in connection with nature but there are few universities and work positions. However if I live in New York I’ll have opportunity to choose between hundreds of universities and thousands free work positions. This connection If our children grow up in a big city, they will have chance to study in prestige school. Besides, they will be prepared for the life with strong competition.

However we know that the life in a big city has some disadvantages. For instance, stress is problem number one in a big city. That is why many people think that it’s better for their children to grow up in the countryside. The life there has many advantages. First, children, which grow up in the countryside, have chance to live with connection with nature. In most cases there are more calmly and they seldom suffer from psychical diseases in contrast with children which grow in a big city. The life in the countryside is not so dynamic than life in the big city. In the countryside there are few changes. For example, children often spend their childhood in one house, they study in one school, and their parents rarely change their work positions, which reflect negative on the children. To sum up, the life in the countryside is related to few problems than this in a big city.

In conclusion, I think that it’s better for children to grow up in the countryside. That is why, the first thing that we must save is health of our children.
