◙ UNIT 1:
1. The present simple tense (Thì hiện tại đơn)
a. Form
* Tobe: is, am, are
(+) S + is/ am/ are + O/ N.
(-) S + isn't/ am not/ aren't + O/ N.
(?) Is/ Are + S + O/ N ?
Yes, S + is/ am/ are.
No, S + isn't/ aren't/ am not.
Ex. She (be) is twelve years old.
Ex. I (not be) am not in Dong Truc.
Ex. Is she (be) twelve years old?
Yes, she (be) is.
* Nomal verb (động từ thường):
(+) S + V(s, es) + O
Ex.He ( live) lives in Can Kiem.
They (live) live in Can Kiem.
(-) S + don't/ doesn't + V + O
Ex.He ( not live) doesn't live in Binh Phu.
They (not live) don't live in Can Kiem.
(?) Do/ Does + S + V + O?
Yes, S + do/ does.
No, S + don't/ doesn't.

Usage (cách dùng): Thì hiện tại đơn dùng để diễn đạt một hành động mang tính thường xuyên, thói quen hoặc hành động lặp đi lặp lại có tính quy luật.
b. Dấu hiệu nhận biết của thì hiện tại đơn:
- Trạng từ chỉ tần suất: always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, seldom, never.
- Các trạng từ chỉ thời gian: every + time (every day), today, nowadays, Sundays.
2. The present continuous tense (Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn)
a. Form
(+) S + tobe(am/ is/ are) + V-ing
(- ) S + tobe + not (‘m not/ isn’t/ aren’t) + V-ing
(?) Tobe + S + V-ing…?
Yes, S + tobe(am/ is/ are).

b. Usage (cách dùng): Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn dùng để diễn tả 1 hành động đang xảy ra tại thời điểm nói.
c. Dấu hiệu nhận biết của thì hiện tại tiếp diễn:
Adverbs: now, at the moment, at present, right now
Verbs: Look! Watch!/ Listen!/ Be (careful/ quiet)!

a. There is
(+) There is + a/ an + n (danh từ số ít) + (in/ on/ at..... + place).

Ex. There is a book on the table.

2. Prepositions of place (các giới từ chỉ nơi chốn)
a. In front of: phía trước
Ex: I am standing in fron of your apartment. Please open the door
(Tôi đang đứng trước cửa nhà em. Làm ơn mở cửa)
In front of me was a strong man with a big stick in his hands
(Trước mặt tôi là một người đàn ông lực lưỡng với một cây gậy lớn trong tay)
You should stand in front of a mirror and look at yourself before ask me for a conversation
(Cậu nên đứng trước gương và nhìn lại chính mình trước khi muốn có một cuộc nói chuyện với tôi)
b. Behind: Đằng sau
Ex: He told something bad about me behind my back.
(Anh ta nói xấu sau lưng tôi)
I wonder who he is behind the mask
(Tôi tự hỏi anh ta là ai đằng sau lớp mặt nạ.)
Behind that factory is a place to produce opium
(Đằng sau nhà máy đó là nơi sản xuất thuốc phiện.)
c. Between: ở giữa
Ex: Between my house and his house is a long way
(Giữa nhà tôi và nhà anh ấy là một đoạn đường dài)
What will you choose between Canada and Germany?
(Bạn sẽ chọn Canada hay Đức?)
The war between two countries brings us many disadvantages.
(Cuộc chiến giữa hai quốc gia đem lại cho chúng ta nhiều bất lợi.)
d. Across from/ opposite: Đối diện với…
Ex: I live across from a book store.
(Tôi sống đối diện với nhà sách.)
The players stand opposite each other and shake hands before begin the game.
(Người chơi đứng đội diện nhau và bắt tay trước khi bắt đầu trận đấu.)
In the opposie of the table is my best friend.
(Phía bên kia bàn là bạn thân của tôi.)
e. Next to/ beside: kế bên
Ex: Next to Sandra’s house is Disney Park. I’m so jealous with her.
(Kế bên nhà của Sandra là công viên Disney. Tôi vô cùng ghen tỵ với cô ta.)
Don’t worry, I always stand beside you. Nothing can changes our friendship.
(Đừng lo, tôi sẽ luôn ở bên cạnh cậu. Không điều gì có thể thay đổi tình bạn của chúng ta.)
He walked beside me on the way back home, we talked and laughed about everything around us.
(Anh ấy đi bộ bên cạnh tôi trên đường về, chúng tôi nói chuyện và cười đùa về mọi thứ xung quanh chúng tôi.)
f. Near/ close to: Gần đó (nó có ý nghĩa giống với next to/ beside nhưng giữa hai vật thể này có một khoảng cách nhất định)
Ex: The check-in desk is near the front door.
(Bàn đăng ký gần cửa trước.)
My house near a high school and a cinema.
(Nhà tôi gần trường học và rạp chiếu phim.)
He sat close to his wife and they said nothing.
(Anh ta ngồi gần vợ mình và họ không nói gì cả.)
g. On: Ở trên
Ex: Your English book is on the table.
(Sách tiếng Anh của bạn ở trên bàn.)
On the top of mountain, we thought I can saw all the world.
(Trên đỉnh núi, tôi đã nghĩ mình có thể nhìn ngắm cả thế giới.)
Excuse me, you are sitting on my coat.

Ex: They have discussed in the meeting room for 2 hours.

- At dùng để chỉ những địa điểm chính xác, cụ thể
Ex: I am waiting a bus at the bus stop. What’s up?
(Tôi đang đợi xe buýt ở trạm xe buýt. Có chuyện gì vậy?)
I stayed at home yesterday and watched movie.
(Hôm qua tôi ở nhà và xem phim.)
- Chỉ những sự kiện, những bữa tiệc
Ex: I met him at my birthday party and we fell in love with each other.
(Tôi gặp anh ấy ở bữa tiệc sinh nhật của tôi và chúng tôi đã yêu nhau.)
- Chỉ những địa điểm mà người ta tới đó để làm những việc cụ thể (khám chữa bệnh, học hành, đọc sách, xem phim,..): at hospital, at school, at library, at movie theater,…
Ex: 3 o’clock yesterday? I was reading at library. Why?
(3 giờ hôm qua à? Tôi đang đọc sách ở thư viện. Sao vậy?)
I’m working as a doctor at a local hospital.
(Tôi đang làm bác sĩ ở một bệnh viện địa phương)
- Ngoài ra chúng ta còn có ví dụ: She sat at the table.
(Cô ấy đã ngồi lên bàn.)
l. Above/ over: ở trên, cao hơn cái gì đó
Ex: Her apartment is above mine.
(Căn hộ của cô ấy ở phía trên của tôi.)
There is a ceiling above my head.
(Có một cái quạt trần trên đầu tôi.)
They put a sun umbrella over the table so I wouldn’t get hot.
(Họ đặt một cái dù che nắng trên bàn nên tôi sẽ không thấy nóng.)
- “Over” còn có nghĩa sự bao phủ bề mặt một cái gì đó, thường dùng với từ “all” All over

There are four seasons in a year in my country: spring, summer, fall and winter. I really love spring. Spring is the time of new life. Days get longer and warmer. Nature puts on colorful clothes: red, yellow, white and purple. There are new leaves on the trees. Flowers begin to grow. rain makes everything green and fresh. Birds build nests in spring. Many baby animals appear. People like to make gardens and farmers plant crops in the fields.

All of the special holidays in my country, I Tet the most. Tet is an occasion to everyone get together in warm atmosphere. Before Tet holiday, Everyone prepares many things and decorates their house. I plant a lot of flowers in front of my house and buy many things such as clothes, foods ...
Besides, most of the streets also are decorated beautifully with colorful lights and flowers. During Tet, I spends more time on visiting my relatives, friends and colleagues. Especially, I give to each other the best wishes for the new year. Tet is an opportunity for children receive lucky money. There is a funny thing that people try to avoid argument or saying any bad things at Tet. I love Tet holiday!
