Since Tet - Vietnamese Lunar New Year - has been, for longer than anyone could remember, among the most important traditional festivals of our country, it's celebration tends to be relatively well-prepared and divers in families. I myself, more than reasonably, has a lot to do too with this day knocking on my very door. The first thing we do as the end of year is approaching, is to finish all our current works in the passing year, cause it gives us a feeling of completion, and that we're off to a fresh start the moment our New Year comes. For instant, I would clean up my room (which I rarely do) and finish all my school works (which I also rarely do). Besides that, a lot like in Western countries, where you ornament your home while longing for important days such as Noel or New Years Eve, Vietnamese people decorates ours. Normally I would help out by going to the Tet market - as you can guess, that market is only open at Tet, which is a silly thing in my opinion - and buy all the best decorations i can find. I'd also buy a lot of candies, cookies and jellies to eat during the festival and to give away, like when people buy Turkey for Thanksgiving. Additionally, some traditional families can make Banh Chung (sticky rice cake) together at home and enjoy themselves while the cake is being cooked. Mine, well, however, of course, doesn't. I have to say, these preparations, along side with many many others, are those that has made Tet one of the most beautiful and enjoyable festival we have annually.

I have many hobbies, such as, playing football, game online and swimming. However, my favourite one is reading manga, a kind of Japanese picturebooks. Whenever i have spare time, i would like to lie on my bed and enjoy thrilling and interesting adventures described through beautiful pictures. Moreover, reading these books makes me feel comfortable and relaxed after a hard-working day in my university. Finally, sometimes, they make me think about life's lessons of love, friendship and family by touching stories , which is the main reason why i like this kind of books.
2.Well, to start off, I would like to describe Tet, which is the most crucial national festival of Vietnam. In Vietnamese culture, Tết marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. It usually lasts three days but celebrations continue for at least the first week of the New Year.
Moving on to the next question, in my opinion, the primary reason for its appearance is that Tết is a special occasion for family reunions as well as for celebrating the arrival of spring.
To celebrate the New Year, we do lots of things together. Before New Year’s Eve, we prepare some local specialties, such as Chưng cake, Vietnamese sausage and dried candied fruits to worship our ancestors and then enjoy during Tet. Houses are thoroughly cleaned out and then nicely furnished in the hopes of getting rid of the past year’s bad lucks. Additionally, many families usually decorate their houses with Kumquat trees, Apricot or Peach blossom and parallel sentences that are believed to bring luckiness, happiness and prosperity to them in the New Year.
All members in a family gather together and have parties to ring in the New Year. During Tết, there are a lot of customs practiced, such as giving lucky money to children, visiting friends’ houses and going to churches, temples or pagodas to make good prays for their family.
If there’s time left, I would like to explain its importance to our culture and me. With Vietnamese, Tết is vital as it’s a very meaningful tradition to welcome the New Year. And it’s more important because Tet is the time for families and relatives to gather under the same roof for rekindling love and bonding. For me, I always long for Tet as it’s the longest holiday, which can help me recover my battery after a long working ye
