Local legend says that long ago when the Vietnamese were fighting Chinese invaders, the gods sent a family of dragons to help defend the land. This family of dragons began spitting out jewels and jade. These jewels turned into the islands and islets dotting the bay, linking together to form a great wall against the invaders. The people kept their land safe and formed what later became the country of Vietnam. After that, dragons were interested in peaceful sightseeing of the Earth and decided to live here then. The place where Mother Dragon flew down was named Hạ Long, the place where the dragon children attended upon their mother was called Bái Tử Long island (Bái: attend upon, Tử: children, Long: dragon), and the place where the dragon children wriggled their tails violently was called Bạch Long Vỹ island (Bạch: white- colour of the foam made when Children Dragon wriggle, Long: dragon, Vỹ: tail).

History shows that Halong Bay has been the setting for local naval battles against Vietnam's coastal neighbours. On three occasions in the labyrinth of channels in Bach Dang river near the islands the Vietnamese army stopped the Chinese from landing. In 1288 General Tran Hung Dao stopped Mongol ships from sailing up the nearby Bach Dang River by placing steel-tipped wooden stakes at high tide, sinking the Mongol Dubhai Khan's fleet.
This is one of Vietnam's tourist destinations recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage.

Everyone loves oranges,I do too.I like them because they are sweet and juicy. They are in sections so it is very easy to eat them. Some oranges don't have seeds.A number of oranges have a thick skin. And some have a thin skin.''Orange'' is both a fruit and a color.Oranges are one of the kind of the most delicious fruits.Eating oranges helps me have more Vitamin C. Many people don't know:"Why is it named after 'oranges'?".I think "the color of oranges is so beautiful that people used it as the name of this fruit".Ilove oranges.
Who loves them like me.

In most of my Tet holiday, I go to visit my family members in my hometown. For my job, I am currently residing in the capital city of my country but my parents, siblings, grandparents, uncle and aunts are living in our hometown. So in most of my Tet holiday, I go to visit my family members. My typical Tet holiday last for 6-7 days most of the time and sometimes I get longer holidays.
The time I stay with my family members and local friends, I enjoy the moments very much. This is the place where I grew up and naturally all of my childhood and adolescence memories are related to this town. I do lots of interesting things there during my holidays: I swim in the river, take care of the garden we have, collect vegetables and fruits from our garden and then make arrangement to sell those to the local sellers, sometimes I catch fishes, play with my friends both indoor and outdoor games, visit different places and do lots of other stuff.
In my city life, I have to follow a strict timeline and stay at my office most of the time, but in my hometown where I mostly go during my Tet holiday, I am quite free and do whatever I feel doing and spend time with the people I care most. That’s why I prefer to go to my hometown during my holidays rather than going to other places.
Today I'd to describe my home garden, which I think is a beautiful one and which I very much. The garden is part of my home's backyard, and my house is located in the suburbs, about a 1-hour drive from the city of San Francisco. There is a big tree right in the middle of my garden, which is surrounded by a hot tub, a small water fountain, several bushes, a section for vegetables, and different kinds of flowers.
This garden was actually one of the reasons why my wife and I chose to buy our house because it had been beautifully maintained by the previous owner’s gardener and landscaper. It’s been only 1 year since we bought the house and now we are taking care of the garden ourselves. Even though we are not experts in gardening, we still try our best to plant things that we , such as roses and tulips, and we even grow our own tomatoes.
Whenever family and friends come to visit us, we invite them to have a relaxing time in our hot tub, and enjoy the view. So in other words, our garden has also become a kind of resort! It definitely requires lots of hard work to properly maintain the garden, but it gives us a great sense of accomplishment to “decorate” it the way we .
All in all, the garden is one of the best features of my home and it is a place where I can relax after a long day of work or during the weekends.
