a)  ( 3x - 1 ) ( 2x + 7 )  - ( x + 1 ) ( 6x + 5 ) = 16 

<=> 6x+ 21x - 2x - 7 - ( 6x2 - 5x + 6x - 5) = 16

<=> 6x+ 21x - 2x - 7 - ( 6x+ x - 5 )        = 16 

<=> 6x2+ 21x - 2x - 7 - 6x-x + 5              = 16 

<=> 18x - 2                                             = 16 

<=>  18x                                                 = 18 

=>        x                                                 = 1
