Dear Susan,
I hope this letter finds you well. I'm excited to tell you all about the job I had during the school holidays. I worked at a local animal shelter, which is just a few miles from my house.
My main task was taking care of the animals, which included feeding them, cleaning their enclosures, and ensuring they were comfortable. It was hard work, but incredibly rewarding. I got to work with a team of dedicated and passionate individuals who shared my love for animals. My workmates were fantastic, and we formed a strong bond over the summer.
I found the job to be fulfilling, knowing that I was making a positive impact on the lives of these animals. One unexpected event was when we rescued a stray kitten, and I ended up adopting her. Her name is Whiskers, and she's become a beloved member of our family.
In my free time, I also organized a small fundraiser for the shelter to help them with their expenses. It was a great experience, and I plan to continue volunteering there even after the holidays.
I can't wait to catch up and hear about your summer adventures too!
Regards,
Vy Võ

I was born in one of the most interesting cities in Malaysia. It has a rich, colourful history and many parts of the city have hardly changed at (1) ...all.......during the last five centuries. However, nowadays, it is (2) .......no.........longer the trade centre that it once (3)......was........... It is difficult to imagine that at one time its harbour (4) ......use..........to be visited by over 2,000 ships a week, and that the huge warehouses along the quayside would have (5) .........been...........full of spices and silks, jewels and tea.
The old city centre is small, which (6)....makes........it very easy to explore (7) ....on........foot. A river neatly divides the town, (8) ...not..........only physically but in spirit, too. On one side, you find many grand houses, but on crossing the river, you find yourself in ancient Chinatown, where you really take a step back into the past.
It is great fun to wander through the colourful, noisy backstreets. As well as having shops that sell a wide range of clothes and shoes, some of these streets are also famous (9) .......for......high quality antiques. Unfortunately, most of the bargains disappeared many years ago. However, (10) .......if.......you look around carefully, you can still come across an interesting souvenvir.

Mozart, who was born on January 27, 1756 in the Austrian city of Salzburg, was neither the first nor the last child prodigy, but he was certainly the greatest. It has been calculated that Mozart spent almost a third of his short life ( he died at the age of 35) travelling. As Mozart matured, he continued to tour and give concerts.
