The building had 7 or 8 floors. Many families lived in the building. It didn't have an elevator and it didn't have a yard. It's framing was different than San Francisco's houses. In my country, I lived in an apartment in a city. Our neighborhood was very friendly but crowded, and sometimes noisy because some neighbors had many children. They made noise when they played outside. In San Francisco, I live in a house in a quiet district. It has a big backyard but the house inside is smaller. The neighbors are mostly nice, but one neightbor has a dog. Sometimes it barks all the time and bothers me. Otherwise it is very safe there. I can enjoy beautiful views of the sunset.--Amy |
I have a house in the Sunset District. It is a very nice house. We have six rooms, a big backyard, and a garage. We planted a lot of trees and flowers, like apple trees, oranges, and peaches. Also we have some grass. I enjoy planting some things in the backyard very much. In the kitchen, we have a washing machine and dryer. They are very convenient. I like it very much, but in China it is very different. There are a lot of condos there. So many people live in the same building they use the public stairway.--Xiao Li |

This is different from the other cities of the U.S., because in other places you don't see similar architecture.--Carmen |

My uncle parks his car outside in the street. We don't use the yard because it's too ugly. We don't like it. |
My lovely house is deep in a quiet alley. But the house is always full of laughter and warm love. A three-story house with a worn dark brown wooden door. My living room is always neat and tidy with many objects: furniture, television, flowerpot, ... I like the pictures and pictures hanging along the winding stairs. The stairs lead up to the bedrooms of the parents and the brothers. On the balcony, my mother planted pots of orchids, sunflowers, and colorful roses. They adorn the house more beautiful so I will always love my home.
1. describe a city/ landmark you like most
I came to Hanoi on an autumn day, and my first feeling was the feeling of a peaceful space, not like in Ho Chi Minh City. That feeling was overwhelming all my soul when I was walking along Nguyen Du Street and enjoying the Milk flower. Why was it so beautiful here? In the early winter night, in slightly cold spread hoarfrost, sitting on the bank of Thien Quang Lake, whether at the other side, I still smelt its perfume. I walked along the street and dropped myself in a sweet smell of Milk flower, the wind blew my hair, and I felt so great.
Milk flower on the streets of Hanoi goes deeply inside the memories of Hanoi people and all visistors who have come to Hanoi. It also goes into the music, the poetry, movies. Those are some good ways to introduce Milk flower to everybody. For me, means of communication such as internet or TV are the best ways to introduce Milk flower for all over the world. It is simple when everyone looks at all wonderful pictures or images of Milk flower, they will want to come and enjoy it. In Japan, they have cherry blossom, in Netherlands, they have tulip…How can we know about it? That is all thanks to means of communication. We must let them know that in Hanoi, we have Milk flower. Therefore, the things we need to do now are we should have a website about Milk Flower with pictures, clips, songs, poetry in many languages (if we can)… or we can hold more activities which relate to Milk flower. We must have some more activities to advertise this kind of flower. That was what I think when I saw Milk flower for the first time.
I love Hanoi. I love the early cold winter nights with Milk flower’s smell. I hope Milk flowers will be grown more on Hanoi streets. Milk flower is a precious gift that nature gives to us, especially to Hanoi, our beloved capital.
2. describe your dream house in the future

My house will has a big garage so that I can store my super cars. My future house will have wind and solar energy. I will use hi-tech and automatic machines such as a smart clock, morden fridge, and so on. There is a super smart TV in my house. I might surf the internet, watch my favourite TV programme from space or contact friends on other planets on this TV. I might also join online classes on TV and not have to go to school. I love my house very much.
3. what can you do to reduce the pollution?
Nowadays, a variety of environmental problems affect our entire world. As globalization continues and Earth’s natural processes, few societies are being left untouched by major environmental troubles.
First of all, some of the largest problems now affecting to the world, air pollution and hazardous waste. These issues can be avoided with the recycling, for example in order to reduce pollution, we can minimize the energy spends on industrial production. Consequently, the greenhouse emission can be reduced which are harmful for the environment and our health. Furthermore, most of the landfill sides are filled up with a lot of waste products that could have been recycled, especially waste materials that belong to non-biodegradable category which takes a long time to discompose. In this way, recycling enable proper usage of these waste products and saves space for landfill.
Plant more trees. This is easy, you know? Choose an open area/ground near your residence or workplace. Plant a tree every month, encourage your friends and colleagues to join you. Have more and more trees planted and there will come a day when you have a green stretch of land thanks to your effort.
Walk more, drive less. Now that's not very difficult, is it? Choose to walk short distances instead of taking your car every time. Walking to the gym, to work (if it's not very far), go walking to run errands. Or use a bicycle. Both cycling and walking are good exercises. And each time you avoid using your car, you are contributing to reducing air pollution. You are saving fuel, saving money and getting a good workout too.
1. describe a city/ landmark you like most
Sydney is my favourite city among the cities I have visited so far. Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales of Australia. This city is situated on the bank of Tasman Sea and has around 4.6 million people. I have visited this city in 2008 after I finished my graduation and loved my stay there. Sydney had many attractive natural areas, botanic gardens, parks, and high rising buildings. This city has many heritage listed buildings that attract the tourists and visitors. The Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognised landmarks in Australia and is a great place to visit.
This city is known for the dynamic cultural hub and it has many famous museums, galleries and art galleries as well. Because of the great architecture, warm weather and hundreds of tourists attraction more than 11 million international and domestic tourists visit this city each year. I had been there for about 15 days and I really enjoyed everything about this city. I stayed at a 20 storied hotel that offered a really amusing sight views. The transportation system of the city is better than many other cities and I could have been maintaining the track and time of my schedule because of that. I loved being at open & wide spaces in the gardens and parks. People are welcoming and friendly there. A tourist can get necessary help both from people and the authority and can roam easily without any interruption. I saw 2/3 art museum and some cultural festivals and those were awesome.
There are so many places to be, so many things to do in Sydney. Some of the attractive places are Royal Botanic Garden, Hyde Park, Queen Victoria Building, Sydney Town hall, Macquarie Lighthouse, Australia Square, Sydney Opera House and so on.
I had a tremendous vacation in Sydney and I liked most of the places there and I enjoyed so much that I did not even notice how quickly the 2 weeks scheduled time has passed.

I have a great desire to visit the Vatican City and that’s a wish I would like to fulfill. The Vatican City is a comparatively small area and I want to visit all the major places of this country. Since I live in (…say your country name…) and would require a visa to enter the Vatican City, airplane would be the most convenient transportation for me. From the airport, I would need to hire a taxi and I wish to travel the Vatican City either in a rented car or on foot. I do not have any particular plan to take a friend or a family member but a good companion would not b a bad idea. Someone who has interest in History (especially on Vatican City) would be a good company for the journey I guess. Right now I can think of (…say a friend’s name…) as my travel companion in this journey.
I have a great interest in the mysteries and history of Vatican City. The places, the artworks, the buildings, the archives and many other interesting historic events of this city make it a great attraction to millions of tourists of the world. I want to take the first hand experiences of the historic events I heard, read and learned about this city. The places and monuments of this city were described in lots of book I have read and the movies I have watched. I would like to go there to witness the greatest works of famous painters, architects and leaders. My interest in history, art and mystery are the main reasons for my interest to make this travel to Vatican City.
