Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn dùng để diễn tả những sự việc xảy ra ngay lúc chúng ta nói hay xung quanh thời điểm nói, và hành động chưa chấm dứt (còn tiếp tục diễn ra).
1. Khẳng định:
S + am/ is/ are + V-ing
Trong đó: S (subject): Chủ ngữ
am/ is/ are: là 3 dạng của động từ “to be”
V-ing: là động từ thêm “–ing”
2. Phủ định:
S + am/ is/ are + not + V-ing
CHÚ Ý:
– am not: không có dạng viết tắt
– is not = isn’t
– are not = aren’t
3. Câu hỏi:
Am/ Is/ Are + S + V-ing ?
Trả lời:
Yes, I + am. – Yes, he/ she/ it + is. – Yes, we/ you/ they + are.
No, I + am not. – No, he/ she/ it + isn’t. – No, we/ you/ they + aren’t.
đặt 5 câu sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn là:
I am eating my lunch right now (Bây giờ tôi đang ăn trưa)
I am playing football with my friends (Tôi đang chơi bóng đá với bạn của tôi.)
She is cooking with her mother(Cô ấy đang nấu ăn với mẹ của cô ấy.)

Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn dùng để diễn tả các hành động, sự việc diễn ra vào thời điểm hiện tại
Cấu trúc:
Câu khẳng định: S + am/is/are + V_ing
Câu Phủ định: S + am/is are + not + V_ing
Câu nghi vấn: Am/Is/Are + S + V_ing ?
Trả lời câu nghi vấn: Yes, S + am/is/are ; No, S + am/is/are + not.
VD:
1. I am reading a book, now.
2. He is teaching me at present.
3. She isn't having breakfast at this time.
4. They aren't going to the zoo at the moment.
5. Are you doing homework now?
Trả lời: Yes, i am / No, i am not.
