My best friend in high school is Lan. Lan sits next to me in class, eats with me at break time, and hangs out with me after school. She has beautiful and long hair; my mother always says that I need to pay more attention to my hair so it can be pretty as hers. I am good at English while Lan is excellent in Math, therefore we can help each other every time one of us has trouble in understanding those subjects. Besides our study, Lan is always by my side whenever I feel upset. I tell her everything, and only she can know my true feelings. 1. That room of mine is not very large, just small and pretty. The room was on the second floor, next to my dad's office and next to the stairs. The wall of the room is completely painted in pink and white. Two colors that I love very much. And those two colors make my room brighter and lighter, more beautiful. There is a window in the room. From that window, I can see the backyard of my house. Every morning, when opening the window, the sunshine will flood into the room, making the small room bright. Every afternoon, the orphan wind will come from outside, through the sliding window into the room, so my room is still very cool even though it's summer. In winter, when the door is closed, it is extremely warm. Next to the window is my desk. A wooden study table designed by my father himself. The beautiful little table is where I study. Opposite the desk is the bed. Next to the bed is my bookshelf. In the room, the bookshelf is my favorite thing. That's where I neatly put the books of fairy tales, literature, history... that I love the most. After every stressful lesson, I choose a book for myself and go to bed to relax.

In the living room, there is a set of ironwood tables and chairs, delicately carved. There is always a lovely flower vase on the table, taken care of by her mother. In front is a large wooden cabinet, put vases, books, or small souvenirs. In the center of the cabinet is a large television that my father bought last year. My name is Minh Duong Khang and I’m a Vietnamese. I am ten years old. I live in Ho Chi Minh city in the south of Vietnam.
I have a big family with six people. I have two sisters and a brother. My sisters are older and my brother is younger than me. My father is a teacher at a secondary school. He has worked for 35 years in the field and he is my biggest role model in life. My mother is a housewife. She is nice and she is really good at cooking. I love my family so much.
I’m a generous and easy-going person but when it comes to work I’m a competitive perfectionist. I’m also an optimis and outgoing person so I have many friends and other social relationships. I enjoy reading, writing and doing math. I decided to become a Civil Engineer because I have always been fascinated by bridges, buildings, and skyscrapers. A degree in Civil Engineering enables me to achieve my goals and also gives me an opportunity to make a difference in the community.
Five years from now, I want to become a project manager of a construction project. As a project manager, my primary goals are managing people, set budgets, and making decisions of all kinds. I also want to speak English fluently so I can work with people from different countries.

Để chuẩn bị vào năm học mới, ba mua cho em một bộ sách giáo khoa lớp Năm, trong đó có cuốn sách Tiếng Việt 5, tập hai.
Quyển sách Tiếng Việt mới xinh xắn làm sao, hình chữ nhật. Bìa sách được trang trí bằng một bức tranh với nhiều màu sắc khác nhau. Mặt bìa láng bóng. Sách mới nên có mùi thơm của giấy và mực in.
Quyển sách khá dày, gồm 176 trang. Ngoài bìa phía trên in chữ TIẾNG VIỆT 5, tập hai bằng mực xanh và đỏ. Phía dưới là bức tranh có các hạn nhỏ thuộc nhiều dân tộc khác nhau đang nói chuyện vui vẻ. Trước mặt các bạn, những cô chú xã viên đang miệt mài cấy lúa, cày bừa trên các thửa ruộng. Xa xa là một ngôi làng nhỏ, mái ngói đỏ tươi nấp dưới những rặng tre đang rì rào ca hát. Xa nữa là biển cả mênh mông, từng đoàn tàu căng buồm ra khơi đánh cá. Trên bầu trời trong xanh, đàn hải âu đang nghiêng mình chao liệng.
Lật sách ra, trang thứ nhất ghi tên các tác giả của quyển sách và một lần nữa chữ TIẾNG VIỆT 5, tập hai lại được lặp lại, có lẽ là để nhắc nhở chúng em hãy học tập tốt bộ môn Tiếng Việt. Trang 3 là chủ điểm Người công dân và một bức tranh vẽ cảnh các bạn thiếu niên khăn quàng đỏ thắm trên vai đang vui vẻ bỏ phiếu thể hiện vai trò và trách nhiệm của người công dân. Trang số 4 ghi chữ “Tuần 19” và bài tập đọc Người công dân số Một nói về tâm trạng của người thanh niên Nguyễn Tất Thành trong việc đi tìm con đường cứu nước, cứu dân. Bên trong các bài học sắp xếp theo tuần, xoay quanh năm chủ điểm: Người công dân, Vì cuộc sống thanh bình, Nhớ nguồn, Nam và nữ, Những chủ nhân tương lai. Những trang giấy đều thuộc loại tốt nên chữ đen nổi bật trên nền giấy trắng tinh. Để thuận tiện cho việc học tập, sách đã sắp xếp khéo léo các bài học theo từng chủ điểm từng tuần học, từng phân môn. Ngoài nội dung bằng chữ, sách còn ghép các bức tranh minh hoạ sinh động giúp các em hứng thú hơn trong học tập. Các phân môn học trong tuần gồm Tập đọc, Chính tả, Luyện từ và câu, Kể chuyện và Tập làm văn. Các phần ghi nhớ được đóng khung với nền màu xanh biếc, gây được sự chú ý nhất định cho người đọc. Trước mỗi chủ điểm sách đều dành hẳn một trang và hình minh hoạ cho chủ điểm đó. Mỗi bài học lại thường có hình minh hoạ rõ ràng, màu sắc hấp dẫn.
Quyển sách TIẾNG VIỆT 5, tập hai sẽ là người bạn đồng hành cùng em trong suốt học kì II giúp em mở mang kiến thức và học tốt môn Tiếng Việt. Em quý quyển sách của em lắm! Hằng ngày, sau khi học bài xong, em bỏ nó vào cặp sách. Mai này dù lên lớp 6, em vẫn xem quyển sách ấy là người bạn tri kỉ giúp em vững kiến thức bước vào ngưỡng cửa cấp II.

She is very pretty with a lovely round face and beautiful dark brown eyes. Although she is not so tall, her black hair is very long and silky. Her favorite clothes are jeans, T-shirts and sneakers for their comfort. At first, she appeared serious but later she showed her humorous side. She always makes me laugh all the times when we see each other. She is not only good at English but she also plays piano exceptionally well. She can even compose songs. I and Hung are team mates in our school’s soccer team, and that is the reason we became best friends. At first we did not know each other, but we quickly became close after just a few weeks. Hung is a good player, so he always helps me prace to improve my skills. In order to thank him, I become his instructor in some of the subjects in class. I am as tall and slim as Hung, and many people say that we look brothers. In fact, we are even closer than brothers. We can share almost everything, from feelings to clothes and hobbies.
