Art vs Arts

Art and Arts are two words that are often confused as words that convey the same meaning. Actually they are two different words that convey different meanings. Art means, fine art such as painting, drawing and sculpture. Arts represent subjects such as commerce, economics, philosophy, history and other such non-science subjects. This is the main difference between the two words.

It is important to know that arts include all the ordinary arts. This is the reason why arts are sometimes called as ordinary arts. They are different from sciences. On the other hand, music is an art. It does not come under arts. Art is sometimes called as fine art too.

Acting and theater also come under art. Art sometimes refers only to painting and sculpture. This is especially so in the case of art galleries. A number of cities in the continent of Europe are known for art galleries where the art pieces of several famous artists have been stored and preserved.

On the other hand, there are 64 arts. Cooking and gardening also come under arts. One of the most important factors that distinguish an art from a subject that falls under arts is creativity. Art needs creativity, whereas arts do not require creativity. This is one of the main differences between art and arts.

Creativity is the very soul of any art for that matter. Creativity is the soul of poetry. A poet has to be creative in order to create poetry. On the other hand, an expert in history or a historian should be knowledgeable in the subject rather than being creative. Creativity does not serve the purpose for him. On the other hand, a sculptor has to be creative indeed for his work to excel and to be appreciated.

I like all kinds of music, but I can say that my favorite one is Pop – a short term of Popular Music. Most people listen to music, and Pop might be the most common music around us. It originated in the United States and United Kingdom during the mid-1950s, and nowadays it has become a worldwide wave. The characteristics of Pop music include an aim of appealing to a general audience, and it also aims to encourage dancing and uses catchy rhythms. This kind of music has lyrics which are easy to understand and sing along, so I can sing to most of the songs after hearing them thrice. My favorite pop musician is Taylor Swift. She is not simply a singer, but she is also a song writer, dancer, and producer. Most of her songs are about many different shades of love, and this subject is also the most common one in Pop. Recently, Pop culture has strongly developed in Asian countries, and it can be said that Korea is the leader of this wave. Many bands have been born, and they have introduced their national values to the whole world through their music. While Western Pop music focuses mostly on the catchy sound of instruments and singer’s voice, Korean Pop is more on the side of synchronized choreography and main concept along with the catchy tunes. I know many other countries also have good Pop songs, but I just listen to US – UK and Korean ones. My dream is to be able to attend a real Pop concert with famous singers, gorgeous stage with a lot of colorful lights, lively sound and professional dancers. I am saving money for a Pop concert in my hometown in the summer, and I cannot wait to listen to my favorite kind of music in real life.

Music and arts helps he a lot at school and in my life.

1.MUSIC IS THE KEY TO CREATIVITY.

Music fuels the mind and thus fuels our creativity. A Creative mind has the ability to make discoveries and create innovations.

2. MUSIC MAKES EDUCATION MORE ENJOYABLE.

Music can be very engaging in the classroom and is a great tool for memorization. I’m sure if more teachers used song to teach the multiplication tables, kids would retain that information much quicker.

3. MUSIC IS THE LANGUAGE OF THE UNIVERSE.

You’ve heard this time and time again, but what does it mean exactly? Music is universal in that there are no boundaries to understanding music. Even animals like Birds, Dogs, and Whales can understand music to a certain degree.

4. MUSIC HAS SPIRITUAL POWERS.

No one really knows where Music came from but there are many theories that suggest music predates the existence of Mankind. One of the most commonly known uses for music was religious and sacred tribal events. In Mayan civilization music was used in celebration of a victory at war and even at the burial of influential figures.

My favourite singer is SIA, she creates lots of goods music pieces. Country and EDM mixed together is actually really good. The vocals that she can sings is impressive amount.

The song I like best is ThunderCloud. There are two narrators/singers in the song: Sia and Labrinth. Each of the narrators tries to reassure their significant other that their love is real and that they should trust them and let go of all fears and anxiety.

In conclusion, music is really important for our life. It makes us more creative, it make education more enjoyable, and it make I feel "cooler". BTW, SIA is my favourite singer and musician.

My favorite genre in music is country music, because the singer’s express their feeling’s. Country music is different because the entire singer’s relate to their child hood. They also relate to their family member’s. They also relate to Iraq and how family member’s react when they’ve been told that their love one’s aren’t coming back home. They express their love life’s and make you think about “falling in love” at such a young age. They make you realize that life can be to short so why waste it on being tied down to just one person.

There are many kinds of music in the word but my favourite is country music. First, this type
of music is traditional and very popular in Vietnam. People can listen to it on radio, TV, CDs or on
the Internet. Second, country music helps me relax. For example, when I feel stressed or tired, I
always listen to my favourite songs. It makes me feel more comfortable. Third, country music can
connect people together. In a party, especially in the countryside, people often get together and sing
a popular song of this type. Generally, I think more and more people will like listening to country
music in the future.

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions from 30 to 37.

The Arts and Crafts Movement in the United States was responsible for sweeping changes in attitudes toward the decorative arts, then considered the minor or household arts. Its focus on decorative arts helped to induce United States museums and private collectors to begin collecting furniture, glass, ceramics, metalwork, and textiles in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The fact that artisans, who were looked on as mechanics or skilled workers in the eighteenth century, are frequently considered artists today is directly attributable to the Arts and Crafts Movement of the nineteenth century. The importance now placed on attractive and harmonious home decoration can also be traced to this period, when Victorian interior arrangements were revised to admit greater light and more freely flowing spaces.

The Arts and Crafts Movement reacts against mechanized processes that threatened handcrafts and resulted in cheapened, monotonous merchandise. Founded in the late nineteenth century by British social critics John Ruskin and William Morris, the movement revered craft as a form of art. In a rapidly industrializing society, most Victorians agreed that art was an essential moral ingredient in the home environment, and in many middle- and working-class homes craft was the only form of art. Ruskin and his followers criticized not only the degradation of artisans reduced to machine operators, but also the impending loss of daily contact with handcrafted objects, fashioned with pride, integrity, and attention to beauty.

In the United States as well as in Great Britain, reformers extolled the virtues of handcrafted objects: simple, straightforward design; solid materials of good quality; and sound, enduring construction techniques. These criteria were interpreted in a variety of styles, ranging from rational and geometric to romantic or naturalistic. Whether abstract, stylized, or realistically treated, the consistent theme in virtually all Arts and Crafts design is nature.

The Arts and Crafts Movement was much more than a particular style; it was a philosophy of domestic life. Proponents believed that if simple design, high-quality materials, and honest construction were realized in the home and its appointments, then the occupants would enjoy moral and therapeutic effects. For both artisan and consumer, the Arts and Crafts doctrine was seen as a magical force against the undesirable effects of industrialization.

According to the passage, which of the following changes occured at the same time as the Arts and Crafts Movement?

A. The creation of brighter and more airy spaces inside homes

B. The rejection of art that depicted nature in a realistic manner

C. A decline of interest in art museum collections

D. An increase in the buying of imported art objects
