On the way to school library, Viet meets Nam. Come to traffic lights notice, a blind man wait to cross the busy road. "Must be difficult frightening to try to cross the road one, he cannot see" he thinks wih himself. And he decide helping the man. He walks up and ask polite: " Can I help you across the road?" Just hen the lights turn green. Viet hold the man by the elbow to guide safe to other side. Blindman is grateful. " Thank kind boy indeed!"

SAFETY ON THE ROADS

Every day many road accidents happen in big cities. Some accidents cause injures but some lead (1)to death. Everyone, especially children, must learn how to cross the road. A simple code to remember is "STOP,LOOK AND LISTEN BEFORE YOU CROSS"

Parents and teachers (2)should educate children on road safety. Most schools have their own School Road Safety Patrols. The School Road Safety Patrol is a uniformed group. It recruits secondary school(3)students as members. Students in senior forms help fellow students cross the road corectly and safety on their way to and from school

When you go out alone, however, what is the best way to (4)cross the road? First you must find a safe place to cross . These may be subways, footbridges, zebra or green man crossings. Of course, it is safest to be directed(5)by a policeman. Then you should stand on the pavement where you can see clearly all the directions, look around for the traffic and listen. If a car, (6)is coming, you ought to let it pass. When there is no(7)traffic near, walk straight across the road. Do not run as you may trip!Roads are dangerous.
