Fiona is my neighbor. She turned twelve recently and her parents held a birthday party for her. I was one of those invited.
The party began at about three in the afternoon. There were about twenty of us children gathered in Fiona's house. We were all dressed in our best clothes. Everyone, especially Fiona, wore a happy smile.
We gave our presents to Fiona and she happily opened them. It must really be exciting to receive all those presents.
After that Fiona's mother served us soft drinks and delicious tidbits. We then played some games "Musical Chairs" and "Treasure Hunt". The winners were given prizes.
At about four-thirty Fiona's mother brought out the birthday cake. It was beautifully decorated with pink and white icing. Twelve colorful candles sat in the middle of the cake. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Fiona after which she blew out the candles and cut the cake. We clapped out hands eagerly.
We helped ourselves to slices of the delicious cake. Then we continued our games.
Finally at about six in the evening the party came to an end. We were all tired but happy. The parents of the other children came to collect them. I helped Fiona and her mother clean up the mess we made. After that I walked home which was only two doors away.

Today, I am 16 years old, so I hold a birthday party at my house. The party began at 7h p.m and finished at 9h30 p.m on October 15th. I invited a lot of close friends ad intimate friends take part in the party. There is a two layer birthday cake with fifteen candles on the table. After people sang “Happy Birthday” song, I blew out the candles and cut the cake. Everybody ate cake, went to KTV and played mini games together. Finally, my friends returned their home, although they all tired, they felt so happy. Regarding me, I cleaned and washed up the party, then I went to sleep.

I am 13 years old this year, the equivalent of 13 birthday parties in my life. Out of those 13 birthday parties, the most memorable one for me was my 10th birthday party. That day, my class came, everyone was happy to attend. Birthday party was so fun, with all the laughter and jokes, it seemed like this would become my best birthday party. But in life no one knows anything, I soon noticed the absence of my parents and grandparents. Right after the party was over, my friends were gone, my mother approached me, telling me something horrible that I couldn't imagine. My grandfather suddenly passed away, right in the middle of the time when I was celebrating a birthday party with my friends, because I didn't want to ruin the happy party, she waited until you all left before I told me. At that time, I blamed myself, why did I play around when my grandfather was gone. It's been 3 years since that day, I still remember the day that was imprinted in my heart. The birthday party that year was also my most memorable birthday.

Birthday is an occasion of reunion and happiness. This is an occordant opportunity to represent love affair to the one we love. My younger sister's birthday came off on last Sunday, the day on which she turned fifteen. She invited a large number of guests including relatives and friends. My whole family were all busy making preparations for the feast. The party took place outside for all the guests to enjoy fresh air in the evening. The surrounding is covered with plenty of colorful balloons and flashing lights. From 6 p.m the guests began to arrive one by one because the party was to start at 7 p.m. Our family warmly welcomed them at the gate of the house. At exact seven, all people present gathered around the table to sing the chorus"Happy birthday to you" and clap hands. After that my younger sister began to blow out all the candles on the cake. It was a great chocolate birthday cake tastefully decorated with colorful candies and cream. All the guests were served with various candies, biscuits, fruits, cakes, beverages,... The party was full of rejoicement and pleasure with laughters all the time. She received so many meaningful birthday presents that she bursted into tears. After finishing the party, the guests said goodbye to us and returned home. Our family began to clean up and soon got to sleep. It was a hardship day but full of cheerfulness and meaning.

Bữa tiệc tràn đầy sự hứng khởi và niềm vui và đầy tiếng cười cả buổi. Em ấy được nhận rất nhiều món quà ý nghĩa đến nỗi đã bật khóc vì hạnh phúc. Everybody has his own birthday which is considered to be the most important and meaningful day of the year. I just attended a birthday party two days ago. It was my best friend's birthday who turned nineteen that day. It was only a simple party outside with about 10 people present on the occasion. It was not sophisatedly decorated, without any balloons or banners at all. Patio furniture was placed in a corner of the garden for us to throw the party. All the guests were warmly welcomed by the host. We carefully selected a beautiful dress and a bouquet as presents for her birthday. After she blew out the candles, we wished her a prosperous life ahead and then he unwrapped all the gifts. She was extremely cheerful and delighted all the time. After that, we turned on vibrant music and enjoy ourselves at the party. The exciting atmosphere really made us satisfied and contented. After having a good time at the party, we realised it was 10 o'clock and had to return home.

I think life in the countryside has many advantages. Firstly, people are very friendly. Secondly , the space is very large. We can play, shout or run around without disturbing others. Thirdly, we can go swimming, go fishing interesting things. Moreover, life is peaceful. Then food is very fresh and especially vegetables. Ha Long Bay is natural wonder in Quang Ninh. From Ha Noi to Ha Long Bay about 170 km. You can go there by bus, motobikes, cars, est. In there, you can see many islands. It's very big. And you can also see many boats. There're visited the islands. We take the photos with islands. It's convenient to buy seafood. It's so good. Go there, you should visit Tuan Chau island. It's the biggest island in Ha Long Bay. It's modern and noisy. Everybody make it noisy. But there are many buildings around the island. And there are many flowers and trees for natural lovers. It's so great! I love Ha Long Bay very much and it's very very and very beautiful natural wonder in Quang Ninh, Viet Nam and the world!

I live in Ho Chi Minh City, and Tet holiday in the city is very bustling occasion. Within a month before the Lunar New Year, the streets are very crowded, many people go out to do shopping and enjoy the holiday scenery. My parents are busy cleaning the house, and I am busy thinking about what to wear and where to go. Right after we have a break from school, my friends and I spend most of the time on Nguyen Hue Flower Street to take pictures. However, Nguyen Hue Street is not the only beautiful place, almost everywhere in the main streets are wonderful for people to have great pictures. They are beautifully decorated with bright lights, and the apricot blossom - the symbol of New Year's Day can be found everywhere. On New Year's Eve, my family and I watch fireworks from Sai Gon Bridge; we have to go there before nine o’clock to get a good spot. Early in the first morning of the year, we go to the pagoda to pray for peace and health, and then I accompany my parents to visit my grandparents and relatives. Tet is my favorite holiday because it is an occasion to enjoy the festive atmosphere, delicious food, and receive lucky money. I wish that Tet could last for a month.

Geography
On land, most of the land area is plains covered by two main rivers, Red River and Nhue River.
Traffic
Thuong Tin has convenient transportation system with two land routes running along the district. It is 17.2 km long and 1 km of highway 1A and the highway of Phap Van - Cau Gie bridge is 17 km long. Old 73); crossing the district is the provincial road 427 (old road 71) from Van La slope (Hong Van commune) crossing the Khe Hoi crossing bridge on the Phap Van - Cau Gie highway to Thuong Tin town to cut with the North-South railway to the west of the district and ends in Thanh Oai district. Provincial highway 429 (73 old) from Phu Minh town (Phu Xuyen district) crossing Van Diem bridge to Do Xa junction intersection with the old national highway 1A; Next is the section 429 from Tia Cross intersecting the north-south railway running into Dong Quan. It is expected to build Me So bridge connecting Van Giang district of Hung Yen province.

History
Ong Nguyen is a suburb of Tran Son Nam from the Le dynasty to the Nguyen dynasty. At that time, Thuong Tin was in Ha Dong province. Phu Thuong Tin now includes districts: Thanh Tri, Thuong Phuc (now Thuong Tin), Phu Xuyen and Hong Duc (now My Duc district).
On April 21, 1965, Thuong Tin district of Ha Tay province (merging two provinces of Ha Dong and Son Tay), including 33 communes: Chuong Duong, Dai Ang, Dong My, Dung Tien, Duyen Thai, Ha Hoi, Hien Giang Hoa Binh, Hong Van, Khanh Ha, Le Loi, Lien Ninh, Lien Phuong, Minh Cuong, Nghiem Xuyen, Ngoc Hoi, Nguyen Trai, Nhi Khe, Ninh So, Quat Dong, Ta Thanh Oai, Tan Minh, Thong Nhat, Phu Phu, Tien Phong, To Hieu, Tu Nhien, Van Binh, Van Diem, Van Phu, Van Tao, Van Tu.
On December 29, 1975, Thuong Tin district of Ha Son Binh province was merged into Ha Tay and Hoa Binh provinces.
On December 29, 1978, five communes in the north of Thuong Tin District were Dai Ang, Lien Ninh, Ngoc Hoi, Ta Thanh Oai and Dong My. There are 28 communes in Chom Duong, Chuong Duong, Dung Tien, Duyen Thai, Ha Hoi, Hien Giang, Hoa Binh, Hong Van, Khanh Ha, Le Loi, Lien Phuong, Minh Cuong, Nghiem Xuyen, Nguyen Trai, Nhi Khe, .
On March 19, 1988, Thuong Tin Town was established on the basis of adjusting part of the natural area and population of Van Binh, Van Phu and Ha Hoi communes.
On August 12, 1991, Thuong Tin returned to Ha Tay province. As such, Thuong Tin district has 1 town and 28 communes, keeping stable so far.
On August 1, 2008, together with the whole province of Ha Tay, Thuong Tin district was merged into Hanoi capital according to the resolution of the Government of Vietnam.
