My Most Embarrassing Moment
Some of the life events are easily to be forgotten while others remain so fresh in the brain as if they happened the previous day. Embarrassing moment is that time when one wishes the earth could develop an opening and swallow him or her. The discomfort felt within those few minutes are felt as if it are stand still,
How It Happened
My most embarrassing moment is still fresh in my memory. I was in my fourth year in high school and was at break time. I had been controlling my urges for the entire lesson. I did wanted to miss the lesson because it was a bit technical and experimental. Once the bell for break rang, quickly rushed to the toilet.
Without realizing, I entered girls’ toilet. The stomach upset and prolonged urges control had drawn away my conscious. The two glasses of tea I had taken in the morning made my condition worse. All I thought about was privacy. I thought I had some unusual giggle sounds but the situation could not allow me to look back. As I was coming out of the cubicle, it was the time I regained my conscious and discovered that I had entered toilets for girls. To make the matter worse, a group of girls had gathered outside the toilet and only turned away in loud laughter when I came out. Horror of horrors, I forgot to zip up! I cannot imagine if there is any creature could match my look at that given moment!
Lesson Learnt Through Embarrassment
My predicament news spread like wild fire within the entire institution. My horror became the talk of the day. I felt as if I could walk out of the institution not knowing were to hide. The world looked like a small village for me to hide my horror. Eventually, I remembered a common saying by our English teacher, ‘if you cannot beat them, joint them.’ So I made up my mind to create fun out the incident to laugh myself as well. It worked well. After some time, everybody was bored and none could tease me after a while.
Indeed, this incident opened my eyes. I discovered that when people make fun of you and laugh you should not be depressed but join the laughter. You ought not to be serious. It is very important to learn to view yourself as others see you. Most time when people laugh at others intend to make fun of them. In fact, they do not imply any arm.
