Dear Jack,

I'm glad to hear that you have just joined a new sport club. I know it is a good opportunity to improve your health. I'm here, in Vietnam, want to tell you something about my favourite sort of sports, if you want. Actually, my most favourite sport is chess. Of course, it is an individual mental sport. When I was at the age of 6, my dad bought a chess set for me and that was also when I touch the first piece and learn the most basic rule. I was really excited when playing with my dad as his opponent, and he was the one who taught me how to play chess well. I like chess because it helps me train my mind, and it plays an imprortant role in my studying. Also, "chess is life" - Bobby Fischer said, because I have learnt many moral lessons while playing it. For example, when I finally had learnt the basic rules, I started playing with my dad. At first, I was extremely greedy, would always took his pieces if I could and usually fell for his trap. That was the first moral lesson for me of not being greedy. And there are so many others lessons that I have learnt, such as I have to be very careful before making a move, and from that I have learnt how to make the best decision, and if a game of chess have a limit time, I can learn how to manage the time correctly. After any game, I will always analyse it. That's a way for me to learn how to find mistakes and correct them, etc. Another reasons why I love chess is because it can be played anywhere, at home, at school, or even in some café shops on the pavement; and everyone can play it, no matter young or old, rich or poor, or something else. Those are many reasons why I love chess.

Trust me! If you play chess, it'll help your brain a lot.

Your friend,

Phuong
