Sherlock Holmes is a London-based private detective best known for his intelligence, logical reasoning, and vigilant scrutiny in cases where the police have to hand in hand. Ông khá can đảm và luôn hết lòng vì anh bạn cùng nhà của mình. Ông đã từng thử suy luận giống Holmes khá nhiều lần nhưng hầu như đều thất bại hoặc là bị ông bạn nối khố phủ nhận kết quả. Ông có một người vợ là Mary Morstan, nhân vật này được quan tâm nhiều hơn khi lên phim chứ ở trong truyện thì xuất hiện khá ít.
