hello. My name is Leny. I'm 14 years old. I'm from Vietnam. I'm Vietnamese.i'm study at Pham  Hong Thai secondary school. I'm in class 8E. I read book and play badminton.

Television is very important for our lives so most families have televisions. It provides(cung cap) us with information and entertainment.

What would you do after a hard day at school or at work and you want to entertaining. It simple, just turn on your TV. Music channel, comedy channel or cartoon channel... is your choice, just pick a channel. And not only entertaining, TV can also help you update the news from all over the world in the end of the day

We stay at home and know what is happens all over the world. You can watch you favourite  programs and game shows you . Someone spends 3 or 4 hours sitting in front of television.

However, if you watch TV too much, it is bad for health especial for your eyes. Children sometimes can’t study because of TV.

There are too much advertisements on television which makes us tired. Anyway, TV is a wonderful invention. It is a cheapest kind of entertainment for everybody.

  What would you do after a hard day at school and you want to entertaining. It simple, just turn on your TV. Music channel, comedy channel or cartoon channel... is your choice, just pick a channel. And not only entertaining, TV can also help you update the news from all over the world in the end of the day. When you bore you can go anywhere you : Paris, New York, London just pick travel channel. As you can see TV have many advantages but you still can deny it have a disadvantage. Now you have about 30 channel with you favorite program and you don't want to miss. And you end up spend all day long to watch TV, and you forget to do other thing. hang out with your friend, sea everything with your own eye, or just forget to focus study for the exam. You can control your life, you are the boss, so you should find the best way to rise your TV, so it only have advantages.

Good Effects 

• Television gives exposure to children on different cultural experiences.

• Television also keeps children aware of current events and news related items.

• Watching educational programs on television help the kids use it effectively, as a complement to school education.

• Quality shows on television can impart knowledge and important values and lessons.

• Watching music concerts and art shows can make the kids aware of the various genres of music around the world.

• Television helps a child in spending time with family members, when all of them are watching the same show.

• Watching documentaries, especially fragmented for children, opens doors of world in their mind. 

Bad Effects 

• Excessive television viewing is seen to trigger violence or aggression in children.

• Watching violent scenes at an early stage might make the kids scary of the world and find every other human being as mean. Often known as ‘mean and scary world’ syndrome, it might push them backwards in taking decisions of life.

• Sitting in front of the television, for long hours, has been linked with obesity, as physical activity gets diminished considerably.

• Children become influenced towards eating junk food, as there is a lot of promotion on the television, regarding the same.

• The bombardment of sexual content on TV exposes teens to half-baked knowledge about sex at an early age, which is harmful for their mental growth. There is seldom mention of proper sex education or issues and risks related to it.

• Devoting more time towards watching television leads to poor academic performance, as a child neglects his/ her studies.

• Many advertisements and programs shown on television focus on beauty products and physical beauty, shifting kids’ interest from studies. They start paying more attention to their overall outlook. In extreme cases, they develop inferiority or superiority complex; leading to depression and underestimating themselves.

• Television watching also promotes lack of creativity and enhances passivity. The child shies away from mental and physical workout.

• The sense of relaxation that kids feel while watching television diminishes completely when it is switched off. This makes them watch TV for longer periods of time and makes them addicted to it

• Television viewing creates the concept of gender-role and racial stereotypes in children, as they start considering it as very natural phenomena. Heroic acts are expected out of males, while women are displayed as objects and less powerful.

If anyone who asks me that “What’s the thing your most proud of?” .I will answer that’s my hometown. Duc Tho is the land poor where the people live by rice cultivation, breeding, and fishing. Although the life is very difficult, but the people is very friendly, and studious. In Duc Tho, there is a Tung Anh village where called “Doctor village”. Duc Tho is also the home of Tran Phu Secretary General, and marked many memories of the great leader Ho Chi Minh.

If you come to Duc Tho, you will feel many interesting things, visiting Tran Phu tombstone, La Giang dyke, rowing on La driver, and enjoying the traditional songs. In the evening, they can enjoy a special food which is “mussel rice” – just only eat one time, you will never forget.

Beautiful and unobtrusive! Duc Tho always tries to grow, and to improve the life of people, but keeping the traditional culture.
