Walt Disney is famous around the world for creating beloved characters and films that have enchanted generations of children and adults. Born in Chicago in 1901, he developed a deep passion for drawing and painting from a young age. Although he attended Brenton Grammar School, he left at the age of 16 to pursue his creative dreams.
Disney became an incredibly successful film-maker, creating iconic animated characters like Mickey Mouse and producing classic films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. His genius earned him a record-breaking 26 Oscars, along with multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Awards. Apart from making films, he was also famous for revolutionizing entertainment by creating the world's first-ever theme park, Disneyland.
In his family life, Walt had three older brothers and one younger sister. He was married to Lillian Bounds and together they had one biological and one adopted daughter.
He passed away from cancer in 1966, but The Walt Disney Studios continued to thrive, creating both live-action and animated films. His visionary work continues to inspire people around the globe to dream big.
