Walt Disney is famous around the world for creating Mickey Mouse and founding one of the most successful entertainment companies of all time. His work has brought joy to millions of children and adults alike.

He was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. As a child, Walt loved drawing and dreamed of becoming an artist. He later attended McKinley High School and studied art and photography. He also took evening courses at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.

Walt Disney became a very successful filmmaker. He created the first synchronized sound cartoon, Steamboat Willie, in 1928, which introduced the world to Mickey Mouse. Later, he produced Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated feature film. He won 22 Academy Awards during his lifetime. Apart from making films, Disney was also famous for opening Disneyland in 1955, a magical theme park in California.

He had three brothers and one sister. He was married and had two daughters.

Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, but The Walt Disney Studios continues to thrive, bringing his vision to life for new generations.
