Vietnam is a country that frequently experiences natural disasters due to its long coastline and tropical monsoon climate. Among the most common and impactful are typhoons and floods. Every year, several typhoons make landfall along the coast, bringing with them strong winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surges. These can cause widespread damage to infrastructure, homes, and agricultural land, as well as loss of life. Flooding is also a recurring issue, particularly in low-lying areas such as the Mekong Delta and the Red River Delta. Heavy rains, often associated with typhoons or tropical depressions, can cause rivers to overflow, inundating vast areas and disrupting the lives of millions of people. Landslides are another significant concern, especially in the mountainous regions of northern and central Vietnam, often triggered by heavy rainfall. These natural disasters pose significant challenges to the country's development and require constant efforts in prevention, preparedness, and response.
