Save the Elephants (STE) is a non-profit organization established in 1993 by Iain Douglas-Hamilton. Its main goal is to ensure that elephants do not become extinct and to protect the natural habitats where elephants live. The organization focuses on three key areas of work: protection, research, and awareness. It works to stop the illegal hunting of elephants, especially in Africa and Asia, where poaching is a serious threat. In addition, STE collaborates with scientists and experts to study elephant behavior and increase understanding of these intelligent animals. Another important aspect of their work is raising public awareness. They achieve this through films, television, and modern media platforms, aiming to educate people around the world about the importance of elephant conservation. So far, Save the Elephants has supported 335 projects in 40 countries, making a significant impact on global elephant conservation efforts.
