Save the Elephants (STE) is a non-profit organisation. It was set up in 1993 by Iain Douglas-Hamilton. The aim of the organisation is to make sure elephants do not die out and to protect the places where they live. STE focuses on three main areas: protection, research, and awareness. In protection, it helps stop the illegal hunting of elephants, especially in Africa and Asia. In research, the organisation works with scientists and experts to study how elephants behave. This helps people understand elephants better. In awareness, STE raises people’s knowledge through films, TV, and online media. Many people around the world learn more about elephants thanks to their work. Up to now, Save the Elephants has supported 335 projects in 40 countries. This shows that their work is important and helpful for saving elephants.
