Walt Disney is famous around the world for creating Mickey Mouse and building a magical entertainment empire. His imagination and determination changed the history of film and animation. He was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. As a boy, Walt loved drawing and storytelling. He attended McKinley High School in Chicago, where he studied art, and later took night courses at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Disney became a very successful film-maker, best known for pioneering animated movies such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and Bambi. He was also the creator of Disneyland, the world’s first theme park, which opened in 1955. Apart from making films, Walt Disney was famous for his innovation, blending art with technology to entertain people of all ages. Walt had four brothers and one sister. He married Lillian Bounds and together they had two daughters.
