Tom and Jane were on a sightseeing tour about London last weekend. In the afternoon they started from Piccadilly Circus, the busiest crossroad in London. They went up Regent Street, one of the best shopping streets, as far as Oxford Circus. There they turned left onto Oxford Street. A little further on the left was a small quiet street called Bond Street with the most fashionable shops in London. Keeping on along Oxford Street, they saw Marble Arch, which is over one hundred years old and was first used as a gate into Hyde Park.
After visiting some more places, they came to Trafalgar Square with its tall column and Nelson's statue on top. Four lion statues guard Nelson's Column at its base. The lions represent the British people.
