Traditional festivals and celebrations always play a significant role in Vietnamese culture. Besides Tet festival, the biggest and the most important celebration for Vietnamese people, the Mid-Autumn Festival, or also known as the Moon Festival or the Children’s Festival, is also a special time in the year. It’s usually held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Vietnamese lunar calendar. This special celebration is mostly embraced by children as they will have an opportunity to dress in beautiful clothes with attractive and colorful lanterns of various sizes, shapes and designs in their hands, ready for a grand procession around their neighborhood. Traditionally, lanterns signify the wish for the light and warmth. The adults also feel extremely happy as they see the radiant look on their little angels’ faces in the parades. However, the Mid-Autumn Festival is more an occasion for outdoor reunions among friends and relatives to eat mooncakes and watch the moon, a symbol of harmony and unity. This is also a special time for the traditional values and precious memories and life stories to be shared and handed/ passed down from generation to generation. Performances of dragon and lion dances are also a familiar sight on the streets when the moon is full. I really enjoy this traditional festival as this is the chance for me as well as other adults to relive our treasured childhood and a great occasion to strengthen our family ties and help the younger people to better cherish the important cultural values.
My best friend is Lan. We have known each other since we were 10 years old. If I were to describe how she looks I would say she is very pretty. She has long black hair a straight nose and a small pointed chin. She is quite slim. She doesn t like to dress up so I usually see her wearing jeans and a T - shirt. She has a very nice personality and a wonderful sense of humour but she can also get a little depressed from time to time.

TK---My eating habit distinguishes me from other people. In the morning I drink a cup of warm honey lemon liquid, which is really good for digesting. Then I eat some rye bread and drink a cup of plain milk. For lunch I eat chicken breast because it's rich in protein.

My friends and I often go on trips together. Last summer we decided to go out to Ba Vi National Park. We made an appointment at 8 o’clock to prepare to depart. There are 10 people. We ride 5 motorbikes. Because we were going to grill the chicken on it, the chicken and the meats were already marinated the day before. We sang our favorite songs while walking. The road from the city to the National Park is not too difficult. When we reached the mountain section due to the steep and sharp curves, we needed to be very careful. We use t = again on an open space next to a garden and a strip of flower land. Male friends will grill chicken and roast meat. I and the different girls go to take pictures and prepare the bowls and bowls together. After eating we rest and continue walking. We take a lot of commemorative photos together. We moved home when it got dark. Outing helps our friendship bond more together.

My home village is now different from the village in my father's story. in his story, my village is very poor.
Everyone live a hard life that time. People lack of food, of money. Now, it is different. People don't live a hard life anymore. They have enough food, enough money, everyone got a house, and many more things. The only things that doesn't change is sentiment. Everyone always be very happy. They live together, help each other when they need, that is a luxury.
That makes my village a wonderful place for everyone. People are just farmer, but they solidarity in the face of penury. And when they have money in their hands, they still solidarity they are friendly with others, they are helpful, they are good people. That's about people.
Landscape is still like the old days. That river, that mountain. Nature is harmony with people. People live with nature, people product things of nature, and nature always open-handed with people, give them resource for them to build their house. That is what people seek, and they live with it very well.
That's all I can say about my home village, in my opinion, my village is a wonderful place. War does not determine who is right, only who is left:" Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country"
