Sadako Sasaki chứ nhỉ

Sau khi Sadako qua đời, các bạn học của cô bé đã quyên góp để xây dựng một đài tưởng niệm cho Sadako cùng tất cả các trẻ em là nạn nhân của quả bom nguyên tử thả xuống Hiroshima. Năm 1958 Tượng đài hòa bình của trẻ em được khánh thành tại Khu tưởng niệm Hòa bình Hiroshima, tượng đài có dạng một mái vòm nhỏ, ở trên cùng có tượng của Sadako đang giang rộng tay cầm một con hạc lớn. Dưới chân tượng đài có dòng chữ: "Đây là lời kêu gọi của chúng tôi. Đây là lời cầu nguyện của chúng tôi. Hòa bình cho thế giới". Vào dịp kỉ niệm ngày thả bom, trẻ em Nhật Bản thường được kể câu chuyện về Sadako để nhắc nhớ tới tình yêu cuộc sống của cô bé cũng như hiểm họa của vũ khí hạt nhân trên thế giới. Gấp hạc giấy và đặt tại chân đài tưởng niệm để cầu mong cho hòa bình cũng trở thành một truyền thống không chỉ của trẻ em Nhật mà còn trở thành một biểu tượng hòa bình trên thế giới, mọi người đều có thể gửi hạc giấy đến đài tưởng niệm theo địa chỉ của Khu tưởng niệm Hòa bình Hiroshima.

Câu chuyện về Sadako còn là nguồn cảm hứng cho hai tác phẩm Sadako Will Leben (Sadako muốn sống, 1961) của nhà văn Áo Karl Bruckner và Sadako và nghìn con hạc giấy (Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, 1977) của nhà văn Mỹ Eleanor Coerr. Cũng có những bài hát nói về câu chuyện của Sadako như Cranes Over Hiroshima của Fred Small.

Bài thơ Zhuravli của nhà văn Nga gốc Dagestan Rasul Gamzatovich Gamzatov được cho là đã bị ảnh hưởng từ câu chuyện bi kịch của Sadako, bản thân nhà văn đã tới thành phố Hiroshima và đã bị xúc động bởi câu chuyện buồn của Sadako. Sau khi được phổ nhạc, bài hát trở thành một trong những bài hát được yêu mến nhất nước Nga và cho đến nay vẫn là biểu tượng của chủ nghĩa ái quốc Nga.

My last holiday

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. I know Prague well because I lived there when I was at university, more than ten years ago.

Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. It was so much fun, and a little bit my old life. I wanted to do all the same things I did in my university days, so I visited the university. It has changed a lot and looks more modern. I also went to the supermarket near my old house. I loved seeing all the different foods. I was really happy to find my favourite cheese and chocolate biscuits but they were a bit more expensive than I remember!

We did some touristy things too. We walked up beautiful Petrin Hill and around the castle. The views of the city are amazing up there. We walked across the historic Charles Bridge. My friend's flat is very near the TV Tower so we saw the famous baby statues climbing up it. Those things haven't changed, of course.

Summer, is a very interesting time, because I will have a long vacation instead of going to class every morning. I still remember when I was 5 years old, I was able to go back to my hometown with my sister. It was my most memorable summer. That summer, when I was about to enter 1st grade, my mother and sister sent me to my hometown to play. My maternal hometown is in Nghe An, while my maternal hometown is in Hai Phong, about 300 km apart. So almost every time I visit my grandmother's hometown, I can only go with my mother or father, but never with my sister. So that time I was very excited. The two sisters were allowed to stay in their hometown for a month. The house is very beautiful with a luxuriant fruit garden. Grandma's small house is nestled among the green groves. Every day, I will go to the garden with my grandmother to pick mangoes, sapodillas, etc. to climb all kinds of things. That summer I also made many new friends. At first, when I spoke with Nghe An accent, you didn't quite understand. But gradually we also understood each other's intentions… The children's play echoed throughout the garden. Grandma's house is so much fun. Then the summer vacation ended, the two sisters had to say goodbye to their grandmother, goodbye to their new friends who returned to study. Outside is very sad. I see grandma crying. That image is etched in my heart
