There is a difference between the most popular sport Americans watch and the most popular sport they play. The most popular sports shown on television in the United States are football, bastketball and baseball. In other countries around the world, soccer is the most popular on television, but soccer is not usually shown on America television. This probably because it is not easy for television channels to show commerials during games. In football, basketball and baseball, there are many breaks during the game, and adventisements can be shown in these breaks.

Although many Americans play football, basketball and baseball in their free time none of these sports rank as the most popular sport in America. The number of people watching these sports is much higher than the number playing these three sports. From a survey, sport researchers found that bowling was the most popular sport in the United States.

1. What is the passage about?

2. Why is soccer usually not shown on American television?

3. Which word in the passage can be used as "commercials"

2. Because it is not easy for television channels to show commercials during soccer games since there are few breaks.

3. The word advertisements can be used as commercials

4. Baseball is one of the most popular sports to watch on TV in the US, but it is not the most popular sport to play — according to the passage, bowling is the most popular sport people actually play.
