While there's a lot of fun people can get from the festival, there are also some downsides.
The first thing is that normally organizing festivals is very expensive. Since most festivals are aimed at preserving and developing traditional cultural heritages, the government is willing to spend heavily on this occasion. Besides, during the festival period, most people don't go to work and only spend money to prepare food and buy expensive gifts for their relatives and friends. That is also why it is said that festivals are often expensive.
The second disadvantage is not ensuring safety during the festival. It is estimated that there are hundreds of accidents during the festival, especially road accidents. There are many dangerous festivals like bull racing, elephant racing which can be very dangerous for people, especially children. Moreover, in some festivals, when rushing to participate in events, people can also injure others.
             The final disadvantage is that festivals can seriously affect the environment. People often tend to throw away the waste cans or bottles after the festival. Furthermore, roadside trees can be damaged by pedestrians. Noise pollution is caused by the noise of performances and noise from crowds.
