Walt Disney is famous around the world for making a lot of successful films, which are loved by children and adults of many generations.
He was born in Chicago in 1901 and developed a love for drawing and painting as a child. Walt attended Brenton Grammar School but dropped out at the age of 16.
Disney became a famous film-maker, known for creating Mickey Mouse and making popular animated films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Over his career, he won 26 Oscars, three Golden Globe Awards, and one Emmy Award, setting a historical record.
He is also known for creating the first-ever theme park, Disneyland. Today, many other Disney parks are open worldwide and have become very popular.
Walt had three older brothers and one younger sister. He married Lillian Bounds, and they were together for 41 years. They had one biological daughter and one adopted daughter.
