Nowadays, a variety of environmental problems affect our entire world. As globalization continues and Earth’s natural processes, few societies are being left untouched by major environmental troubles.

First of all, some of the largest problems now affecting to the world, air pollution and hazardous waste. These issues can be avoided with the recycling, for example in order to reduce pollution, we can minimize the energy spends on industrial production. Consequently, the greenhouse emission can be reduced which are harmful for the environment and our health. Furthermore, most of the landfill sides are filled up with a lot of waste products that could have been recycled, especially waste materials that belong to non-biodegradable category which takes a long time to discompose. In this way, recycling enable proper usage of these waste products and saves space for landfill.

Plant more trees. This is easy, you know? Choose an open area/ground near your residence or workplace. Plant a tree every month, encourage your friends and colleagues to join you. Have more and more trees planted and there will come a day when you have a green stretch of land thanks to your effort.

Walk more, drive less. Now that's not very difficult, is it? Choose to walk short distances instead of taking your car every time. Walking to the gym, to work (if it's not very far), go walking to run errands. Or use a bicycle. Both cycling and walking are good exercises. And each time you avoid using your car, you are contributing to reducing air pollution. You are saving fuel, saving money and getting a good workout too.

1. Write about your holiday/ travel experiences in a famous city.

My first visit to Paris was a remarkable experience, which I will never forget. I booked the Dover-Calais ferry and drove with my wife from London in the cold Christmas weather. We intended to stay until the New Year in a hotel located in a suburb of Paris and visit the city every day.

It was a great feeling to arrive in Paris and see the city of light – a modern city with a very deep sense of history. I will never forget when I first drove through, passing the canals and seeing the monuments. It was like a huge open-air museum. It was love at first sight.

It was dark in the evening, Christmas lights illuminating the whole city. It was bright, almost like daytime. The streets were very busy, full of shoppers marching from one shop to another. I was fascinated seeing The Palais Garnier, which is the Paris Opera House. I parked my car in a small one way street nearby. When we reached the main road, there was an underground station with a big, lit-up sign displaying the word ‘Métropolitain’. I did not make note of the road name, as I thought that the name of the station would be sufficient for finding my car again. We visited the Opera house and walked towards Place de la Concorde. We then walked back to find our car. I located what looked like exactly the same ‘Métropolitain’ sign that I had noted in my head, but it was not the right street.

I became anxious and confused. I approached people who were passing by. Some just ignored me. I told a French man in English that we were looking for ‘Métropolitain’ station. He pointed towards the station. I asked an American couple who were tourists. The guy said, ‘why don’t you go inside the station and find out?’ I approached the woman behind the counter and asked her the same question. She said, “c’ est Métropolitain”. I repeated, “but this is not the same.” She laughed, “Tous sont métros de Paris, ils sont tous le Métropolitain.” She continued in broken English, “All … Métropolitain.”

I finally realised my mistake and understood that the ‘Métropolitain’ sign was the symbol for all metro stations in Paris, not the name of one station! This was just the beginning of our nightmare. How were we going to find the car? It took us nearly over two hours walking through many streets that all looked the same. I wondered whether to call the police. It was a miracle that I finally managed to find my car.

It was late in the evening and we were hungry. We decided to eat in a recommended Lebanese restaurant in a street very close to the Champs-Élysées. We parked close by, so that I could watch my car easily. Every now and then I looked through the window. Suddenly I saw a car at the top of the road shaking back and forth. It was stationary, but was moving up and down. After a minute or so, I saw the car in the front come out and leave. The waiter saw my astonishment and said, ”The cars in Paris are parked bumper to bumper – it’s difficult to park, and impossible to leave.”

We were staying in Épinay-sur-Seine in the north of Paris, 11.3 km from the city centre. The next morning, we walked around the small town. It was Christmas and all the shops were closed. We were happy with our hotel, but we decided to check the prices of other local hotels. I saw a very nice building marked ‘Hotel de Ville’. I approached the building, but the door was closed. After a few minutes a man opened a window. I asked him, “how much is it per night?”. He replied, ”Qu’est-ce que vous voulez?” I repeated my question. He simply said, ”Il est fermé”. I could not understand him. I asked him again, “I just want to know the prices”. He shouted, ”Il est Noël. Le bureau est fermé” and closed the window. We wondered what kind of hotel this was and left.

When we were in the centre of Paris, I saw another Hotel de Ville. It was a magnificent large building that looked like a palace. I suggested to my wife that it was possibly a five-star branch of the same hotel. It was only when I visited the tourist office to get directions to various sightseeing places that I found out the Hotel de Ville is actually the city’s municipal office!

We stayed in Paris for ten days and had a fantastic time. I loved everything about this romantic city and vowed to never hesitate to come back to experience it again and again. But I promised myself that I would learn the language!

2. Write about ways of making your school greener.

1) Start a green team: Join forces with other eco-conscious students to form a Green Team that evaluates the school’s environmental programs and brainstorms innovative ways to improve them. Green Team members can initiate a school recycling program, present environmental education workshops, or lobby the school board to replace existing light bulbs with energy-saving CFLs.

2) Ban bus idling: A recent Yale University study found that students who ride a school bus are exposed to up to 15 times more particulate pollution than average. Why? The answer lies in the practice of bus idling. School buses line up and wait in front of the school with the engines running, filling up with harmful particulate pollution that will stay with you throughout your ride. Bus idling wastes gas, contributes to air pollution and global warming, and is damaging to our health. Make sure your school has a policy in place to ban it.

3) Use paper wisely: Try to avoid using excess amounts of paper at school. Be sure to use all of the sheets in a notebook before starting the next one, use the double-sided feature for printers and copiers, and send text messages to friends instead of passing notes.

4) Clean up: Does your school use a bucket-load of chemical cleaners to clean and disinfect classrooms? If so, ask them to make a switch to eco-friendly cleaners that are better for the environment and non-toxic for the students, teachers, secretaries and administrators who spend their day there. Order the free guide from the Healthy Schools Campaign called “Green Clean Schools” and pass it on to your school administrator.

5) Save on supplies: Before you head to the store to buy new pencils, notepads and binders for school, check to see what’s hiding in your desk drawer from last year.

Hopefully these will help you or your child involved in bringing green ideas to the classroom.

My name is Quyen. I am in class 7A. If I become the president of an environmental club, firstly I will encourage students to go to school by bike or bus. It will be very friendly to the environment. Next, I will talk to teachers at school about putting recycling bins in every classroom. We can reuse or sell the things in these bins. Finally, I will organize the secondhand item exchange festival where students can swap their old items with their friends instead of throwing them away. I think I will be a good club president.

Dear Mithun:
I hope this letter of mine finds you in vibrant health and soaring spirits. As you already know the entire nation has been swept by P.M. Narender Modi’s Swach Bharat Abhiyan, I am writing to you to share with you the activities that our school is planning to undertake in this regard. As you already know I am the head boy of the school, much is expected from me. We started the clean and green programme from our school. I, along with the entire team of prefects and volunteers, launched cleanliness drive throughout the school campus. We cleaned the school campus and planted approximately 2000 saplings along its boundary.
Secondly, the team of volunteers went to the city’s river, the Sutlej to clean the rubbish thrown on its banks by the people. We collected the garbage from its banks. Our school’s efforts were praised by all. The local press covered our school’s contributions in furthering the noble cause. Seeing us, the other schools followed suit. This caused a chain reaction of cleanliness throughout our country. The rest is fine. Studies are going on as usual. Do tell me what activities are you planning to undertake under the Swach Bharat Abhiyan campaign? Give warm regards to uncle and aunt.
Yours affectionately,
Abhishek

I have a lot of pride in my large, beautiful school. I constantly want to take action to make my school a spotless and beautiful place so that my friends and I can learn in the greatest surroundings. Every morning, children sweep the classrooms and schoolyard, and every week, they clean the doors and windows. Every corner of the school has a trash can, and there is always a recycle can in front of each classroom. Also, we are taught not to litter and to dispose of trash properly. That would result in severe punishment for us. We plant numerous trees in the school yard and constantly care for, water, and rake their leaves in order to make the school more environmentally friendly.

School is considered as our second home,  we all want to make our school cleaner with our utmost desire and I'm not an exception. However, it is the user that decides whether a thing lasts long or not. The same goes to places, and in order to continue studying in such a good school like mine, we as users must conserve and protect its environment. To begin with, we must understand the whole concept of "green". So what do I mean by "green"? It doesn't just mean a color, it also means eco-friendliness and cleanness. "Green" reflects the state of being free from rubbish and being unharmful to the environment thanks to having very little litter. Currently, our school covers a vast area of land filled with trees, and as a result, students gain a lot of benefits from them. Trees have addressed many issues at my school, like the need for fresh air (they take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen), and they provide the cool shades students enjoy during hot summer days. However, nothing stays the same forever, so actions must be taken in order to keep our school green. Although the school has a team of cleaners, they cannot manage all by themselves. We - the students - should join hands with them. Sure, students can help by planting trees, cleaning the school playground, saving electricity, etc., but sometimes, it is the smallest things that matter. Helping is important, but the will to keep the school clean is even more important. The only way students will help without being forced to is to persuade them, telling them how bad the situation will be when the school isn't green, and how it will affect them. Moving on, if I were the principal of our school, I would try to raise funds for eco-friendly projects, cooperating with environmental organizations and establishing a green team for the school. Not only that, I would also organize classes and events where students can learn about Going Green. On the whole, I believe that making my school green is an essential job that would greatly and positively affect the environment as well as the people working and studying there. Therefore, each and every one of us must play a role in protecting the school's environment. Being green is not only the benefit of the school, but of our own. Let's do this together, you and me.

Đề 1:Write about your favourite TV programme.

As a senior high school student, I am very busy with my studies. Although I am very fond of watching television, I can only spend an hour after dinner on my hobby. Of all the TV programs, I like the news and documentaries best.

My favorite sport is football. In America people called it Soccer. But I like to call it Football. Nowadays, most of people in the world like football,so it is called the king of sports. Why do people like it? I think the most reason is it easy to play. You can play football every where if you just have a ball with the right size. Not only men play football but also women can play. There is the World Champion for men players each 4 years, and for Women as well. In addition, football have a big attraction. When World cup took place, a large number of millions people watched it on TV and saw it directly. Now there are many football club in each country, even district, school in the world. In the football today there are much more money involved, especially in sponsors. But player also cost a lot, There are many players as C.Ronaldo, Beckham, Zidane who cost over 50 million euro, even over 100 million euro. Many big and famous club have large stadiums with alot of fan in all over the world. They can get a great number of billion US dollar from broadcasting copywrite every year and a big avenue from sponsors and advertising. That prove the attration of football. To me, I like football because it's a useful, healthful, collective but competitive sport. I like overenthusiastic air on stadium on each match.
