The friend who helps me to wake up in time for school every morning is an alarm clock. It was a beautiful gift that my grandfather gave me on the day I turned 10.My watch takes the shape of a mischievous, adorable Doraemon cat. The watch put on blue is beautiful. Inside are the numbers from one to twelve arranged in a lovely circle, in the correct order. When the watch battery woke up, it was time for the race of the three brothers to start.Kim is the oldest, the stubby one so he runs the slowest. The two minute hands are slightly smaller than the hour hands, so the speed is faster. But the winner is always the fast nim. The three brothers also had a neighbor who was an alarm friend. This friend helps me not to be late for class. Behind Doremon's back are two control buttons. An alarm button, a button to adjust the time. Every time the battery refuses to work, I ask my dad to open a small cover behind the cat to replace the battery of my new friend. Every weekend when I was on vacation, I brought my watch to clean.I will keep the watch very carefully so that it will always be a good friend, accompany me on the way to study.

These numbers are dark black, even nearsighted friends can still see clearly. This watch is made of very solid hard plas. But if it is dropped it may be broken. That's why I take care of my watch, keeping it safe and not dropping it.
At the back of the watch is a support for the watch to keep it balanced, not to fall backwards. Above all, at the back of this watch is a battery case. With just one push, you can easily remove and replace the battery. This battery is a temporary battery, when it runs out of battery, I will replace it with a new one.
Every morning at 6 am the clock will sound loudly wake me up. This is the familiar sound I hear every day. Sometimes I hate this sound because it wakes my sleep. But sometimes I thank her because of that I didn't come to school late.

Every year, Vietnamese people go absolutely crazy over Tet. It's our major holiday -- the only time when the country shuts down and people take it easy. They visit their families, clean their homes, decorate, cook, and square away their debts. It's a time to prepare for renewal and rebirth. I usually become a clean freak.
After the house is in order, I reward myself by driving to the nearby Vietnamese enclave in San Jose, California, to buy flowering branches of blossoms to decorate the house. (If you're curious, I go to the entrance of the Grand Century mall at the corner of McLaughlin and Story, to be specific.) The blossoms are beautiful symbols of life and resilience. Shopping for the delicate branches is part of my annual ritual. In fact, Tet doesn't seem quite right without a few branches of blossoms in the house.
Forsythia_blossoms In Vietnam, delicate yellow apricot blossoms, called hoa mai, (above, right) are highly prized in the southern part of the country. The only ones I'm come across in the States have been on display at Tet festivals. The tree is hard to come by but you can certainly come close with Forsythia (right) branches.
Forsythia are grown in the States and usually start flowering in February. This year, with Tet falling in early February (February 7, to be specific), you may be lucky. Forsythia are native to East Asia (China, Korea and Japan) so you'd be staying within the Asian family of flowers.
Quince_blossom Northern Vietnamese people prefer reddish-pink or pink blossoms because those hues are harbingers of good fortune. Intensely colored peach blossoms, called hoa dao, are favored by northerners. In the U.S., vibrant quince blossoms, which are flowering right now(!!), are a fabulous substitute. Their intense color always stop me in my tracks.
Around my neighborhood, there are scraggly quince bushes blooming right now. If it' s on public property, I sometimes break off a little branch or two to take home. Since it's not good to pilfer, try a floral shop.
Stone fruit trees (peach, plum and apricot) should start to bloom around Tet too, and their delicate pink flowers are drop-dead gorgeous. When I shop for Tet blossoms, most of what's sold are the light-pink ones. The branches are long and unwieldy so make sure to gently wrap them in newspaper and then transport them home with care. (Bring newspaper with you because the vendor is not likely to have any.) Because the blossoms are mostly in full bloom (or about to open), they can drop flowers and petals in your car, which can be a pain to clean up.
If you don't have yellow, reddish-pink or pink blossoms, white ones will be just fine too!
Peach_blossom_3 How to treat the branches: Regardless of how you obtain your branches and which one you get, when you get home, use a hammer to break apart a bit of each branch at the cut end. Crushing the fibrous end ensures that the branch will absorb water well. They'll last longer. Put them in a heavy vase, lest they tip over a small one, and enjoy them for a couple of weeks. The branches have a life of their own (they may not stand upright and beautiful on their own) so bunch them together with a rubber band before putting them in the vase. Don't forget to change the water every few days.
Growing these trees: If you're inspired to grow these trees, source them in the next few weeks. Check at Viet markets or shopping areas about a week before Tet. There's usually an itinerant vendor who shows up to offer potted trees and/or cut branches; these vendors have a way with forcing the blooms to give a dramatic showing around Tet every year. Bring cash.
Or, check with specialty nurseries. Every year, you'll have a supply of branches to bring cheer to your home inside and out.
And if the blossoms are unavailable or if you just want to add to the merriment, get a pot or two of fluffy, golden chrysanthemums.

My secondary school is a place that bears all the hallmarks of my childhood memories. It is placed in the center of my district. Surrounded by a paddy-field, it enjoys lined- trees and colorful garden, which creates a wonderful view. Moreover, this school was designed with a large- scale plan. It is a 2 storied building of u shape with capacity of 1000 people and it was invested heavily in infrastructures with well- equipped classrooms. In a good environment, students are given many precious chances to discover and develop their inner talents. Besides modern facilities, this school is also well- known for enthusias and qualified teachers who are always dedicated and devoted themselves to teaching career. In conclusion, studied in this school for four years, it has become an indispensable part in my life.

I have a closest friend and her name is Mary. She is twelve years old and she is a student at Le Loi secondary school. She s listening to music and she often listen it in her free time.Her favorite subject is English and she good at learning English. Every day she and I go to school together because we are classmates.In the afternoon, she stays at home, so she helps her mother with the housework. I have a bestfiend and also a neighborhood whoes name is Tuan. His age is the same as mine but he looks older than me. Because he’s very tall and thin, everybody calls him “a palm”. Tuan has a short curly hair and beautiful chestnut brown eyes that appeal of many girls. He is a person of very few words that makes him to be a good listener. Anyone, who has ever contacted with Tuan, thinks about him as a glacial boy. In fact he’s really warm and nice. He’s willing to help people whenever possible. When I was in secondary school, I found Math was very difficult to understand but Tuan solved the Math problems so fast. He spent all seven nights of weeks to help me in Math while he could go out to relax. Tuan was a good all-rounder exception English. Most of the teachers in school and parents highly appreaciated his talent. Only a month ago, he received two full scholarships from America Government to study oversea but he has not yet decided whether he should go or not. Although he has not spent much time to take part in sport activities, he is a well football player. We were in Ha Noi Young Football Team when we were in grade 10. Everything seems perfect to my bestfriend but he’s very modest and always talks to himself to give more effort. I’m proud of Tuan and pray for the good things beside him forever.

After stress and pressure in life, one always has a place to come back called home. I love decorating my own bedroom. My bedroom is on the second floor near my parents’ bedroom. There is a double bed for my younger sister and me. I usually lie above her so that it is easier for me to study late at night without annoying her. The room has a big wood wardrobe, which contains all of our clothes such as: dress, jean, t-shirt and sock. Beside, my mother bought us a dressing table on my 15th birthday; therefore, I put all the makeup-stuff and bandeau here. In the corner stand a large bookshelf in order to store books, academic document as well as family passe-partout. Next to it is a table with a desktop so as to help us investigate more knowledge on the internet. My sister and I really enjoy decorating the room with sker such as: mickey, boo bear, hello kitty, angry bird and so on. Beside, we also sk glow-in-the-dark tape on the ceiling and it turn out to light when darkness comes. Moreover, the room is designed with pink and deep blue so it brings us cozy and fresh feeling when putting step into it. The bathroom is in my room too. It is quite small but always clean and restful as we tidy it up every week. My father suggests having a bathtub; however, we don’t agree since we enjoy having a shower instead of lying in tub. Bedroom is a resting place after a hard studying day; hence we always clean it up so that it is neat and comfortable.

Teacher plays an important role in every child’s soul. To me, miss Huong-my English teacher. She taught English from grade 10 to 12. She is tall, young, slim body with round face and bright smile. She is a devoted and responsible teacher as she always prepares carefully all the lessons before going to class. She teaches us the way to love people and becoming a good citizen for the country. Moreover, student love the way she teach, mark the score and correct the mistake. In my opinion, she is not only my teacher but she also works as my second mother at school. She helps student through thick and thin in life. Whenever facing up with any problem, I have no hesitation to share with her then she finds out the best solution or gives me some helpful advice. Additionally, if we don’t attend the class for some reasons, she immediately contacts us and asks whether we are fine. It seems that she spend her youth to learn and give deep knowledge to young generation and she really enjoys the job. Most of the time she spend for taking care of children from education to daily life. She is one of my idols because of her talent, personality and career. Therefore, almost student look up to her and thank her for kindness and responsibility.

Today if there is any institution which has the greatest influence on us after the family, it is the school. The time that we spend in school are not only time spent in learning and filling our minds with knowledge, but also time spent forming our character, acquiring various attitudes and imbibing basic principles of life. The basic traits of our personality are formed during our school days.
The name of my school is Nguyen Binh Khiem High School. It is situated in the suburb of Hai Phong city. It is considered to be one of the finest schools in the city, highly acclaimed for its excellent for number of talented students. The school building is an impressive structure. It consists of four three – floor blocks and has about 36 classrooms. Classrooms are spacious and airy.
Two staircases at both ends lead to the floors. The school has a well-equipped library, a well- established science laboratory and two excellent computer room, all of which are situated on the a separate block.
There is an area for learning physical education and sports. Two cemented basketball courts stand in the right corner, while the school’s football field is in the center of the area. On the left center, there are two courts for badminton and volleyball. A small garden full of flower plants surrounds the school building adding to the charm and beauty of the entire complex.
My school has over 1200 students. Our headmaster is an experienced and efficient person who has been at his job for the last 10 years and more. Under his able direction, the school has been obtaining many good result and gain the dispute in the city. The teachers here are well-experienced and knowledgeable in their subjects.
A lot of emphasis are given to character formation, moral education and acquiring good values of life. Although the school environment is rather strict and time-table based, but there is lot of fun and joy in the school. Matches, tournaments, musical shows, competitions, events, etc. make my school life lively, interesting and enjoyable.
I am proud to be a student of Nguyen Binh Khiem High school.
