Dear Mr ..... ,

I am writing this letter to complain about the factory near our village which has caused much air and water pollution. The factory is dumping a large amount of fumes into the air, which cause the respitory deseases of some villagers. Moreover, the factory also discharges harmful chemical waste into our village lake. It killed a lot of fish and now, no one can use the water from the lake because it is poisonous.

We all think the factory should be responded for their unconcious, dangerous and irresponsible action. We also believe the People's Committee should make the decision of punishing the factory heavily and prohibit them from contaminating the environment again in order to protect the villagers' lives.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope you will give the factory the right punishment.

The Statue of Jesus Christ in Vung Tau The enormous 28-metre figure of Jesus gazing across the East Sea with outstretched arms is located at the southern end of Small Mountain. Built in 1971, this giant Jesus rests on a 10 metre-high platform. The interior of the statue is hollow and contains a spiral staircase of 129 steps, ascending from the foot of the statue to its neck. The two shoulders of the figure the balconies, each able to accommodate up to six people, which offer a splendid view of surrounding landscape. This is the largest sculpture in Southern Viet Nam. The medieval artists didn't know about perspective; they didn't want to make their
people look like real, individual people in a real, individual scene. They wanted to show the

In the European Renaissance period, artists wanted to show the importance of the
individual person and his or her possessions and surroundings. A flat medieval style
couldn't show this level of reality and the artists needed a new technique. It was the Italian
artist Brunelleschi who discovered the technique of perspective drawing. At first the artists
of the Renaissance only had single-point perspective. Later they realized that they could

Crivelli wanted to show depth in his picture and he used a simple single-point perspective.
Cezanne always talked about space and volume. Van Gogh, like some of the other painters
of the Impressionist period, was interested in Japanese prints. And Japanese artists until this
cenfury were always very strong designers of "flat" pictures. Picasso certainly made pictures
which have volume and depth. However, he wanted to keep our eyes on the surface and to
remind us that his paintings are paintings and not illusions.

Great Escapes from London

For Londoners with a busy lifestyle, it's hard to get away even for a day, but Amanda Hyslop spoke

Tóm lại, đây là lý do khiến mất môi trường sống nhanh chóng được coi là nguyên nhân chính gây nguy hiểm cho loài, và không có lực lượng nào mạnh hơn trong vấn đề này so với con người. Ở một mức độ nào đó, mọi phần của trái đất đã bị ảnh hưởng bởi các hoạt động của con người, đặc biệt là trong thế kỷ qua. Điều này áp dụng trên hầu hết mọi quy mô, từ việc mất vi khuẩn trong đất đã từng hỗ trợ rừng nhiệt đới, đến sự tuyệt chủng của cá và các loài thủy sinh khác trong môi trường nước ngọt bị ô nhiễm, thay đổi khí hậu toàn cầu gây ra bởi việc thải khí nhà kính. Từ quan điểm của một đời người, những thay đổi như vậy có thể khó phát hiện và ảnh hưởng của chúng đối với từng loài có thể khó dự đoán. Nhưng bài học là đủ rõ ràng. Ví dụ, mặc dù nhiều quốc gia đã có kế hoạch trồng nhiều khu rừng nhiệt đới, chúng rất dễ bị phá hủy bởi vì các loại đất mà chúng phát triển rất nghèo trong các chất dinh dưỡng sẵn có.
