Tet, also known as the Lunar new year festival, is the biggest traditional festival in Viet Nam. Tet is usually from the end of January to early February. Before Tet, the Vietnamese prepare many things for the three main days. They clean their house and decorate with flowers such as a kumquat tree or peach blossom. A huge amount of food will be bought before Tet for making traditional dishes. Banh Chung, Banh Tet, Gio cha, Xoi and Mut, …and candies are the foods that must be eaten on Tet holidays. During Tet, people visit their relatives’ homes and give wishes.
However, the Vietnamese believe that the first visitor a family receives in the year determines their fortune for the entire year, people never enter any house on the first day without being invited first. Another custom is giving lucky money, which is put into a red envelope as a symbol of luck and wish for a new age. Traditionally, elders will give lucky money to children and the oldest people in the family. However, nowadays, people can give it to anyone including friends, parents, neighbors,… Besides, Vietnamese usually go to pagodas or temples to pray for health, wealth, success,… To Vietnamese, Tet is the happiest time of all year round, members in a family can gather together, which is a meaningful message of the Lunar New year festival. All in all, Tet is all about going back to origins, being good to others, enjoying the precious moment, and wishing for the best to come.

Trong nhà mẹ là người lo cho chồng con nhất. Mẹ thức khuya dậy sớm để chuẩn bị bữa sáng cho gia đình, tuy vậy nhưng trong lòng mẹ lại rất vui. Mẹ là cô giáo dạy Văn dạy ở trường Điểm cách nhà khoảng 2km. Mỗi tối, có những bài tập khó, mẹ là người giảng cho tôi hiểu. Đến tối khi đi ngủ, mẹ là người nằm cạnh tôi, kể chuyện cho tôi nghe, ru tôi ngủ với những lời ru hay bằng cái giọng trầm ấm của me. Đối với tôi, mẹ là tất cả. Tôi yêu mẹ nhất trên cuộc đời này.

In my journeys, I was strikingly impressed by many kinds of food, one of which is crispy pancake - also known as Banh Xeo. The ingredients to make flour mixture include rice flour, coconut cream, turmeric, onions and salt, mixed with water. The batter is then added into a frying pan brushed with vegetable oil and forms a thin pancake. After about two minutes, the cooker will scatter some pork, shrimps and sprouts on half of the cake then fold it in half to cover the filling and cook for thirty seconds. The dish is often served with traditional sauce made from fish sauce mixed with lemon, garlic and chilli. An interesting feature about Banh Xeo is the way people eat them. The pancake will be cut into two to three pieces and rolled in sheets of rice paper together with some lettuces. The roll is dipped into the prepared sauce, which creates a stunning combination of flavor. In one bite, customers can feel the crispness, a little bit sweetness, fat and freshness of the vegetables and just want to eat more. To sum up, coming to Vietnam, if you want to explore the culinary culture here, Banh Xeo will be an amazing experience that should not be missed.Next, my favorite drink is Coca-Cola. It is a carbonated, sweetened soft drink and is the world’s best-selling drink. A popular nickname for Coca-Cola is Coke. I often drink Coca to meet my thirst. In addition, I also drink it when eating fast or greasy foods like fried chicken, French fries, hot pot dishes,… Although Coca is delicious, it is harmful to health. My best friend is Archana from the school time. We are good friends from the childhood and still continue.She is a smart girl having fair complexion and dimpled cheeks. She is a pretty girl, I so much her. I still remember that we were met in our kindergarten class and became great friends forever. She is very entertaining, jolly and helpful in nature. She understands me a lot and become always ready to help me in my all bad or happy conditions. We are classmates and become together every time. We go to the school everyday together and play sports daily in the nearby ground of our house.

My best friend is Thai friend. He has a tall, glistening hair and is very handsome. After each lesson is a breaktime. At breaktime, i and my friends come down the schoolyard to do exercise. After that, we play some games. The boys play football or shuttercocksport. The girls play skipping rope or blindman bluff. Under the tree, some groups of people talk, read books, magazine and comics or they joke. That's really fun. The atmostphere on my schoolyard at breaktime is so evenful.
