The theme of the short plays is about  daily life of the people in the  rural areas and folklore tales. Nowadays, water puppet shows are available in Thang Long water puppet theater in Ha Noi. Every year, the theater offers hundreds of shows to tourists from many parts of the world to Viet nam. These water puppet shows help to introduce Vietnamese culture as well as the spirit of  Vietnamese people to foreigners.
