TV is now taking on more and more importance in our lives. For many it is now the main source of entertainment and they use it as a form of relaxation after a hard day at work or school. However, there are also many people who see TV differently. They use it to find out about the outside world, as a source of information. They switch it on when it’s time for the news or when there is a documentary on an interesting subject. Some people even learn history and literature by watching historical dramas or adaptations of novels. A thirteen-year-old girl who was found to have a very good general knowledge and was thought to read a lot said, “But I learnt it all from TV.” This is one interesting advantage of TV that many parents overlook.
