Holi Festival is important to the Hinđu as well as many other Indian and South Asian origin people. It was held in late winter, on the last full moon of the lunar month of Phalgun (February or March), (Phalgun Purnima), which usually falls in March, sometimes in late February

The Festival has many purposes, but the most prominent is the marked spring. In the literature of the 17th century, it has been defined as an agricultural Festival, the Festival celebrates the season bumper harvest in the spring, good and fertile. The Hindus believe that there is a time to enjoy the rich colors of spring and say goodbye to winter. For many religious Hinđu, the Festival of Holi marks the beginning of the new year as well as an occasion to reset and refresh the already broken relationship, end conflicts and freeing themselves by dirty feelings of impurities accumulated from the past.

It also has a religious purpose, the icon shown in the legend of Holika. The night before Holi, bonfires are lit in a ceremony called the Dahan (burning of Holika) or Little Holi. People gather near the fire, singing and dancing. The next day, Holi, also known as Dhuli in Sanskrit Dhulheti, Dhulandi or Dhulendi, or, are held. Children and adolescents of color solution spray powder (the colored gulal) on each other, laugh and celebrate, while adults obliterate pigments dry (abir) on each other's faces.Visiting the first House to be teased with color, then served with the food typical of Holi, desserts and drinks. After playing with colors and clear, people bathing, dressing clean and visit friends and family.

Like Holika Dahan, Kama Dahanam are held in some regions in India. The Festival of colors in these regions is known as Rangapanchami, and on Thursday the day after the full moon. (Poornima)

A Kid in King Arthur’s Court is directed by Michael Gottlieb. The main character in the film is a teenager called Calvin Fuller. Calvin is played by Thomas Ian Nicholas. This film is a modern retelling of Mark Twain’s classic book Connecticut Yankee.

Calvin lives in California, USA. He is a very shy boy and he is not very good at sports. At the beginning of the film, Calvin is playing baseball when there is a terrible earthquake. A hole opens in the ground and Calvin falls through it. He lands in the past, in the time of King Arthur.

Calvin meets King Arthur and Merlin, the wizard. King Arthur is played by Joss Ackland and Merlin is played by Ron Moody. They think that Calvin is amazing because he plays them modern music on his CD player and he shows them how to make rollerblades and a mountain bike. Calvin is trained to be a knight and he becomes more confident. Calvin helps King Arthur to beat his enemy, Lord Belasco, and then Merlin sends Calvin back to the future. Calvin finds himself back in the baseball game, but this time he wins the game.

The special effects in A Kid in King Arthur’s Court are very good. Michael Gottlieb is a great director and the actors’ performances are good. The film is funny and exciting. It’s a comedy, a drama, and an action film all in one.
