Everybody has his or her own hobby. My favourite hobby is reading. I enjoy reading a book when I am free. I started to get the hobby from my father when I was four years old. My father is a researcher so he has a great collection of books on many fields: literature, science, art,…
I enjoy reading because it allows me to explore my own imaginative world. I keep the hobby of reading at least one hour every day. I usually read books at home, in my own room, at my office or at the local library. On my freetime, I can spend hours reading and thinking about facts described in each kind of books.
My favourite author is J.K.Rowling who wrote world-famous books “ Harry Potter”.
For me a good book is not only a true companion but also a well-experienced teacher guiding me through my life. There are a lot of advantages of reading. Reading makes me feel relaxed and calm. It has the miracle to relieve my suffering and my hardship and reveal to me strange and new horizons. I can also learn new vocabularies and grammars. So I can further improve my English. Moreover, it gives me unlimited imaginations. I can learn about different cultures of other countries in the world, too.
Instead of indulging myself in futile entertainments, I am often keen on reading books, which broadens my mind and improves my knowledge.
In a few words, the reading of books contributes to the moral and intellectual formation of a man. I love reading and I love books. I will collect more and more books and I wish I can write my own books in the future.

I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the occasion expected the most by Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 3-4 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar.
The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.
There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.
The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.
3. Talk about your Tet holiday .
Tet is a traditional holiday of our country, Vietnam.
It often begins in late-January and ends in early-February. With the meaning of seeing the old year off and welcoming the new year, Tet becomes a special occasion of reunion for Vietnamese families. At that time, all family members try to come back to their home and get together to make such preparations for Tet as buying new clothes and cleaning their house. A branch of apricot blossoms or a Kumquat tree is indispensable decoration for every family in these days. They seem like a fresh air to the house. We display a tray full of fruits and vases of flowers on the ancestral altar.
Some typical Tet's food are sweets, coconut jam, fruit candies, melon seeds, stew pork with eggs, and especially sticky rice cake. Tet meals are usually bigger and more delicious than our daily ones.
On Tet holiday, people have many recreational activities. Young persons take part in the traditional games such as: tug of war, cooking rice, cock fighting, watching lion dance. Many people visit relatives to wish a happy new year. Adults will give lucky money to children. Woman like going to pagoda to wish good things for their family.
In my opinion, I like cozy and fresh Tet atmosphere. All family members gather and talk about resolutions for a happy new year. I can hang out with my friend and don't worry about anything.
" Tet" holiday is always in Vietnamese's heart.
1. Talk about your school .
There is a white three-storey building, surrounded by greenery, located at Simei Town Central. That is Simei Primary School. That is also the place where I have schooled for the last five years or so.
My school uniform is white. The boys wear a white shirt and white shorts while the girls wear a white blouse and skirt. The uniform must always be worn with the school badge which bears our school motto “Nothing without labor”. It means that we must be willing to work to get our reward. We are also taught to be honest and polite all the time.
Most of the teachers in my school are just and kind. However, there are some teachers who show favoritism. As a result, the students who are favored by these teachers are very proud and like to bully the others. In general, however, we all treat one another like siblings and live in harmony.
Topic 1:
This is my house. My house is big. The house has four floors, two yard, three bathroom, my bedroom, my parent's room and the guest's room. In the first floor has one living room, one bathroom. The second floors has my parents's room, one of guest's room and one bathroom too. The third floors has my bedroom and the last one bahroom. In the four floors has the altar's room. Everybody say my house is beautiful. I love my house very much.
Tick cho mình với nhé!
I live in a house at ____(Bạn tự điền tên đường vào nhé!) street with my family. My house is small but it is very beautiful. It has 3 bedrooms, one for my parent, one for my sister ( hoặc là brother, tùy bạn chọn thôi) and one for me. The living room is small but it is very nice and the kitchen is very convenient. My house also has a small garden with some trees and flowers that my father is planted. My house isn't large but it very beautiful, and I enjoy it very much.
My school's name is Gia Thuy Secondary School. It has 30 rooms and 2000 students. My school has a big football field with lots of ball. Especially it has a canteen to eat breakfast and eat lunch. I like my school because it has my favourite room: IT room. In there, there are lots of computer. I love my school very much!
I'm going to describe my primary school which is very near my house. It take me about 10 minutes from my home to school and it also next to my high school.
In Vietnam, we go to primary school at 6 years old and it is the same to me.
In summer, I could collect a lot of phoenix flowers and push in my note books, and then I gave it to my best friend like a gift. My memory about teachers in that school is unclear now but I still remember my third grade teacher. The reason is she usually wore Ao Dai with a modern collar which could show her neck and a little of her shoulder. And she is the only person who gave me a seat on special class for outstanding student.
One of important things I love my childhood at that school because I met my ex-best friend from there, we played, we learned, we laughed, we ate together. Besides that, my school used to be a hospital in war, so that we talked about a lot of ghost stories, dared each other and our classmates to go to girl toilet at twilight.
I can conclude that I love my school because all my special memories was there.
To be able to keep the school greener, I will plant trees and flower around school garden. This will make my school more beautiful. Seconlly, I will put recycling bins in every classroom. I can reuse and recycle things. Finally, I will organize book fairs. In here, I can exchange used books. I hope our school will be greener.
I was born in a quiet village where the influence of the city is not much.
It is a small village with a population of about two thousand people.
It is a very good place for relaxation indeed. In my village, people live very close to each another. The people are very simple in thought and behavior. Therefore they are friendly and helpful . So, the crimes of the city are almost unknown in my village. The people work together and live in peace. I love them. My village is surrounded by paddy-fields and a river. All these add great beauty and variety to my village scene. Although I do not like growing rice, but I really like the fields. It makes me have a good mood, a peace mood and a relaxed mood. Now I am living in Hanoi capital. I want to come back my hometown very much. Living among such friendly and simple people, in such a quiet village, is indeed a real pleasure. My hometown
In the fact, I have two hometowns. I was born in Quang Ngai province and grown up in Lam Dong province. My first hometown is lowlander, it located about 100km to south of Da Nang city. It has severe weather condition: high temperature and the sun was burning hot, one day the sun can burn from 5h30 to 18h30. From July to December, my hometown is affected by storm. So that, the local people’ life very hard. They grow rice and keep pigs, chickens and buffalo. In addition, they grow eucalyptus, it has high economic value. In Quang Ngai province has Dung Quat international port, it come into stream since end of 2008. It opens economic area and neighboring ones.
Oppositely my first hometown, my second hometown is highland. It has comfortable weather, the average temperature is 170C and it is a quiet place. In the winter, temperature may come down 50C. It located about 24km to west-southwest of Da Lat city center. When you come to my hometown you can see more hills and more pine tree, the specific tree of low temperature area. All these add great beauty and variety to my hometown scene. The local people grow coffees, teas, avocados, persimmon and vegetables include potato, carrot, green peas, cabbage…... So that, when you come to my hometown you can eat more vegetable with low price and make the most of refresh air. Now I’m studying in Ho Chi Minh city and after graduation, I’ll come back my second hometown to find job and contribute a small part of me to develop my hometown.
My favourite country is Japan. It is in Asia. Its capital is Tokyo. There are about 126 millions people living in Japan. The weather there is similar to that in Hong Kong. But, in Japan, the typhoons are mainly in autumn. Besides, it would be snowing in winter there. You can find many interesting things in Japan. I think the most interesting thing is Sado, the Way of Tea. It is a means of training concentration of spirit and of learning manners. For the interesting food in Japan, it should be Sushi. Sushi is a traditional Japanese food made with rice and vinegar. I like it very much. On the other hand, one of the special scenery in Japan is hot spring. Generally, people think that the water in the springs is hot. However, in Japan, there are some springs of cold water. In Hong Kong, many people like traveling in Japan. It is because there are various tourist spots. In the Tokyo Disneyland, there is the "Disney's Dreams on Parade". It is based on the theme of dreams and features of the Disney characters, Mickey Mouse. After hearing my introduction of Japan, do you want to go to Japan too?

1/I have many hobbies, but I like reading most. Books are always a good friend to me. It is a good way to improve my vocabularies by exposing many new words. By reading, I get better at concentration because it requires me to focus on what I am reading for long periods. It also opens up the knowledge door for me. Reading books tell me about the world's history, let me see the structure of the brain, or bring me a story of Sherlock Holmes. I think reading is one of the most interesting indoors activity.
