1. Lên kế hoạch cho việc học và đặt ra những mục tiêu thực tế
Việc quyết định học tiếng Anh hoặc trở lại lớp học tiếng Anh sau một thời gian dài nghỉ ngơi, có thể khiến bạn bị quá tải. Vì vậy, hãy thử lên kế hoạch trước cho việc học của bạn, tạo ra thời gian biểu cho từng tuần và ít nhất một ngày tự học, bao gồm cả thời gian ôn lại bài.
Việc tính toán trước thời gian học qua từng ngày hay từng tuần sẽ giúp bạn tích lũy tốt hơn, và sẽ dễ dàng hơn cho bạn để theo dõi được tiến trình học tập của bản thân. Điều này đặc biệt đúng trong trường hợp bạn đã có được những mục tiêu rõ ràng. Ví dụ như bạn có thể sẽ muốn học 5 Linking Expressions (Từ nối) mới vào tuần sau (mục tiêu thực tế) hơn là luyện kỹ năng viết bài một cách thành thạo (không thực tế).
Mẹo: Một ứng dụng tuyệt vời dùng để phục vụ việc lên kế hoạch học là My Study Life. Nó giúp bạn thiết lập thói quen học tập, và cũng có thể sử dụng để sắp xếp cả công việc trong một ngày của bạn.
2. Ghi chép lại từ vựng mới theo cách của riêng bạnKhi học một ngôn ngữ mới thì việc cần làm là ghi lại những từ vựng cần chú ý trong bài. Những bài học thường dựa trên những chủ đề xác định (mua sắm, âm nhạc, gia đình,...) sẽ giúp bạn dễ dàng tạo ra một bộ từ vựng được sắp xếp theo chủ đề.
Cứ việc thử nghiệm nhiều kiểu ghi chép khác nhau, kể cả thẻ từ vựng (flashcard), sơ đồ tư duy (mindmap) hay bảng từ vựng (vocabulary table), rồi bạn sẽ tìm thấy cách phù hợp nhất cho bản thân. Bạn cũng nên ghi chú lại nhiều dạng, cách dùng và cách đọc khác nhau của cùng một từ vựng có ở một số từ nhất định (hãy chắc rằng bạn có một quyển từ điển tốt).
Mẹo: Hãy thử dùng điện thoại ghi âm lại từ vựng từ bài học. Hoặc hãy thử tạo ra một trang trực tuyến bằng Glogster để đăng tải từ mới, video hay hình ảnh của buổi học (chẳng hạn như hình ảnh chụp lại ghi chú trên bảng của giáo viên). Hãy thử những cách học này xem thế nào nhé!.
3. Ôn lại bài học trên lớp và bài tự họcĐể việc học từ và ngữ pháp có kết quả tốt, bạn cần phải ôn lại cả bài học ở lớp và bài tự học của bạn thường xuyên. Lướt qua những ghi chép trong một buổi học của bạn và cố ghi nhớ một vài hoặc tốt hơn là tất cả từ vựng và điểm ngữ pháp quan trọng (phải nhớ đặt ra một mục tiêu cụ thể trước). Sau đó hãy viết tất cả những gì nhớ được lên một tờ giấy khác, xem bản thân có thể nhớ và viết được bao nhiêu từ. Cứ lặp lại quá trình này đến khi bạn đã nhớ hết được những gì bạn đặt ra trong mục tiêu ban đầu.
Mẹo: Một số người đã học một cách hiệu quả thông qua cách tạo ra nhiều flashcard được lưu trữ trên điện thoại. Quizlet là một ứng dụng điển hình. Ngoài ra còn có GoConqr, ứng dụng cho phép bạn lưu tất cả bài học ở cùng một nơi. Bạn còn có thể tạo được sơ đồ từ vựng từ những bài học! Có rất nhiều công cụ giúp đỡ bạn học tập trên mạng, hãy tự tìm kiếm cho mình những công cụ phù hợp nhé.
4. Trở nên tích cực và làm chủ việc học của mìnhKhi ở lớp, hãy cố tham gia nhiều nhất vào các hoạt động học tập. Cố gắng sử dụng những từ vựng và ngữ pháp mà giáo viên đã hướng dẫn trong buổi học. Phạm lỗi là điều đương nhiên trong quá trình học tập, nên đừng để nó cản trở bạn tiến bộ.
Hãy chủ động, đừng để bản thân thụ động: tham khảo ý kiến giáo viên về phần ưu và khuyết điểm của bạn; hỏi thử suy nghĩ của những bạn cùng lớp về cách phát âm của bạn; tổ chức câu lạc bộ nói tiếng Anh cùng những học sinh khác, như vậy thì bạn có thể luyện kỹ năng nói ngoài giờ học. Bằng việc hoạt động tích cực và làm chủ việc học của mình, bạn sẽ sớm gặt hái được kết quả mà bạn mong muốn.
Mẹo: Đã có rất nhiều ứng dụng học ngôn ngữ sẵn sàng giúp bạn kết nối với những người nói tiếng Anh, nhưng hiện tại có một ứng dụng mà tôi nghĩ là tốt nhất, đó là HelloTalk. Ứng dụng này là nơi để bạn trình diễn những kỹ năng về ngôn ngữ mà bạn đã học được, bên cạnh lớp học.
5. Tìm kiếm những thứ thú vị dựa trên nền tảng tiếng Anh để xem, đọc và ngheĐể thành công trong việc học tiếng Anh, bạn cần phải tập thói quen đọc và nghe tiếng Anh nhiều nhất có thể. Dù vậy, hãy đảm bảo những chủ đề mà bạn đọc và nghe là thứ mà bạn cảm thấy thích thú. Hãy tập làm quen với việc xem chương trình TV và phim ảnh, nghe nhạc và radio, đọc sách và tạp chí, tất cả đều bằng tiếng Anh. Tiếng Anh đã thật sự trở nên phổ biến toàn cầu và những cơ hội để bạn có thể đọc và nghe tiếng Anh là vô tận.
Mẹo: Youtube với những video tiếng Anh sẽ là nguồn cung cấp miễn phí và không có giới hạn cho bạn để luyện tập. Một nơi tốt để bắt đầu trên YouTube là kênh YouTube của Hội đồng Anh (lưu ý: bạn cũng có thể luyện nghe song song với đọc phụ đề phía dưới). Bên cạnh đó, bạn có thể xem kênh YouTube của Jamie Oliver để được truyền cảm hứng và khám phá thêm nhiều công thức nấu ăn mới. Ngoài ra, bạn có thể nghiên cứu thêm một số trang web học tiếng Anh hiệu quả khác tại đây để tích lũy cho mình nhiều phương pháp học ngoại ngữ hữu ích nhé.

Vocabulary:
Compulsory (adj): Có tính bắt buộc.
Element (n): Yếu tố.
Complement (v): Bổ sung.
Proactive (adj): Chủ động.
Nowadays, English is an international language, and most young people are learning this language with the hope of being able to communicate with people on over the world. English has become a compulsory subject at most schools, and a lot of people go to foreign language teaching centers to improve their skills. Learning English is not just limited in memorizing vocabulary and grammar, but it is also a process of training and improving listening, speaking, reading, and writing skill. We should focus on these four elements, because each skill will have the necessary content to complement the other three. We improve our speaking skill if we can listen to and understand what people say; and if we can master our vocabulary and grammar, we can write and read easily. Apart from spending the time to prace, we also need to be creative in learning English. Textbooks at schools and English-teaching centers are just basic steps, so we need to be proactive in finding more resources. There are a lot of movies, music and books written in English nowadays, and we can learn a lot from them. In short, learning English is a long process, but it will be easier if we can find the right and effective ways to learn.

Hiện nay tiếng Anh là một ngôn ngữ quốc tế, và phần lớn giới trẻ đang theo học thứ tiếng này với hi vọng được tiếp xúc nhiều hơn với bạn bè trên khắp thế giới. Ngoài việc dành thời gian để tập luyện, chúng ta còn cần phải có sự sáng tạo trong việc học tiếng anh. Sách giáo khoa ở trường và các trung tâm chỉ là những bước đi cơ bản, vậy nên chúng ta cần phải chủ động trong việc tìm kiếm thêm nhiều nguồn tài liệu khác nhau. Hiện nay có rất nhiều phim, nhạc và sách được viết trong tiếng anh, và chúng ta hoàn toàn có thể học được nhiều điều từ chúng. Nói tóm lại, việc học tiếng anh là cả một quá trình dài, nhưng nó sẽ trở nên dễ dàng hơn nếu chúng ta tìm được cho mình những cách học phù hợp và hiệu quả.

Besides stressful studying hours, we can still learn English even when we are entertaining. Learners can turn their hobbies such as reading, watching movies or listening to music into a powerful assistant in learning this language. While watching English movies, we can also listen to what the actors and actresses say in order to get familiar with the Western accent also as the way they use the sentence structure in a parular context. Next, we can learn more vocabulary and have a thorough understanding of grammar by reading English lyrics and books. On weekends, instead of playing games or hanging out with friends, we can spend some of our spare time to join the English clubs. These clubs provide an open English-communicating environment, enabling us to communicate confidently and recognize our mistakes. This can help us to be more interested in learning English, and talking to native speakers can encourage us to learn more about this language. In general, English is not too difficult for us to learn; however, we should know how to learn it properly in order to make the best use of it.

Điều này giúp chúng ta có hứng thú hơn trong việc học tiếng Anh, và việc nói chuyện với người bản xứ sẽ khuyến khích chúng ta tìm hiểu nhiều hơn về thứ ngôn ngữ này. Nhìn chung tiếng Anh không quá khó để chúng ta có thể học được, nhưng chúng ta phải biết cách học để có thể sử dụng nó hiệu quả nhất.

Pracing English skills every day:
1. VOCABULARY LEARNING:
This is the basic element for children to learn English well. Without vocabulary or vocabulary is too poor, it will greatly interfere with the communication or reading comprehension exercises.

English is so widely spoken, it has often been referred to as a "global language". it can bring people closer ... it can make business and negotiations easier... it can help you communicate with people of all cultures across the globe.English is very important for us to master because it is really necessary for our future job and our life everyday. There is no way to improve something without practising it. Most of Vietnamese students study English at school, but they can not improve it much, because they don't use them in their every day life. And now, some experiences to learn English will be shared with you. Do follow and I think they may be very effective. English skills can divide into 4 parts: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Now, let’s go into speaking skill first.
Speaking
At first, you should speak slowly but don’t mispronounce. To express your ideas more effectively, you can combine with your gesture and acts. Through this way, learning English will be easier because you can use all your five senses.
If possible, use a tape-recorder to record your voice. Then hear again to adjust.
Practise your speaking skill at home, at school and everywhere if possible
• At home, if nobody can speak English with you, stand in front of your mirror and speak with yourself. You may have many difficulties at first and you often think that there’s nothing to talk but if you try, it will become your habit gradually.
• At school, you can invite your friends to speak together at time break. start with easy sentences such as “What’s your name?” or “What’s your favorite food?”. Then go to more difficult one. And expressing your ideas is not easy, is it? For example, you want to say that “Yesterday, my father picked me up”. But you don’t know how to speak English, you can use both English and Vietnamese “Yesterday, my father đón me”. It may seem ridiculous but I have tried many times. And its effect, there’s no need for further argument. In a short time, I not only improve my speaking skill but also broaden my vocabulary. Because if you don’t know any words,you can look up your dictionary right away and if necessary, asking your English teacher for help is the best way.
Listen tapes as much as possible to imitate native people’s intonation.
Here are some useful ways you can try. Finally, I want to say that speaking English fluently won’t be too hard for you if you try to practice .
Listening
The best advice is “ listen, listen and listen”. Start with simple levels, try to hear and then write all things you have heard. You don’t need to hear every word in a passage or a conversation. The most first important thing is you can understand what they are speaking. If your listening skill is better, you can go to more difficult levels. Many sources can support you such as English songs, tapes, TV, Internet,….
Vietnamese students may very good at reading and writing skill. But I want to share you some experiences I have.
Reading
When reading, you will see many new words. Don’t use your dictionary, guess their meaning and continue your reading. When you finish, it’s time for you to check them.
Try to answer questions below every reading part or try to find the topic and the main idea of each passage you read.
Improving your vocabulary is really important not only for your reading skill but also for other skills.
Find stories, essays,…on Internet or on newspapers, magazines in English and read as much as possible. By this way, you not only read better but also save your money to buy books.
Writing
Try to write out all things you have spent in a day so you can practise this skill more often.
Chatting in English with your friends is really a very good idea.
If you want to learn how to write methodically, read more books about this.And while reading, pay attention to their styles to imitate.Writing skill also divide into many levels from easy to difficult ones so start with first easy steps.
